We specialize in helping customers ingest, process, and delive**r** the highest-quality media content efficiently. **Location: Remote US** **Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager of Platform Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure to lead the design, stability, and growth of Telestream’s cloud operations and manage a small team of ~5 engineers. In this role, you will ensure our cloud infrastructure is highly available, scalable, and secure to support mission-critical media processing services. You will drive infrastructure uptime and reliability, develop automation tools, and guide next-generation operations across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. ******This is a strategic leadership position that also requires deep technical expertise; 50% collaboration with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Design, etc.) to align infrastructure initiatives with product goals and 50% people management. ** **This is a full-time remote position** in the media technology industry, offering the opportunity to shape the cloud platform that powers Telestream’s innovative video solutions.

- Leadership Experience:** 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing **distributed (remote) teams**. Proven ability to mentor engineers, set clear goals, and build a strong team culture in a geographically dispersed environment.
- Technical Depth & Strategy:** Ability to dive deep into technical details while also operating at a strategic, organizational level. You can review architecture designs or debug issues, and equally contribute to high-level technology strategy and planning.
- Talent Development:** A track record of recruiting, hiring, and **retaining top engineering talent** in a competitive market. You excel at building high-performing teams and supporting the growth of individual team members.
- Agility & Clarity:** Thrives in environments with high ambiguity and rapid change. Capable of bringing clarity to undefined problems and maintaining focus on execution. **Adaptable** and calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills in dynamic situations.
- Cloud Infrastructure Expertise:** Deep experience with **AWS** (using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and EKS). Familiarity with multi-cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure) is a plus. Hands-on skills in containerization (Docker) and orchestration with **Kubernetes** are required.
- Infrastructure as Code & DevOps:** Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like **Terraform** for automating cloud deployments. Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines – able to design and maintain continuous integration and delivery workflows for cloud services.
- Observability & Monitoring:** Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability tooling to keep systems healthy. Familiarity with tools such as the **Elastic Stack (ELK)**, Prometheus, or similar solutions for tracking system performance and reliability is desired.
- Operational Excellence:** Care deeply about security, reliability, and operational excellence as first-class priorities. Demonstrated commitment to incorporating security best practices and rigorous testing in infrastructure changes. Experience running 24/7 **production environments** and instituting effective on-call and incident management processes.
- Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Domain Knowledge (Bonus):** Experience in the **digital media, video streaming, or broadcast** industry is a plus. An understanding of media workflows or video processing pipelines will help you quickly grasp Telestream’s core domain.
