Associate Data Engineer

Job Summary The Associate Data Engineer assists with the sourcing, transformation, and analysis of data and developing ETL logic to support existing and future deployments. Duties and Responsibilities - Support sourcing, transformation, and analysis by assisting senior team members in development, maintenance, and deployment of data pipelines and ETL logic - Assist in the sourcing, transformation, and analysis of data under the guidance of senior team members - Support the development of ETL logic and pipelines for existing and future deployments - Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines supporting a medallion architecture as part of the organization's data modernization initiatives - Participate in technical data management functions including creating, loading, transforming, cleansing, processing, analyzing, and visualizing data - Collaborate with teammates and business partners to help build technical solutions that are reusable, scalable, and maintainable across large datasets - Develop and maintain working knowledge in data reporting, management, and transformation technologies - Actively learn new and existing tools, resources, and processes - Assist in the implementation of data architecture and solutions - Develop and deliver code under supervision to support existing and future deployments Experience and Education Requirements - Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, a math-related field, or a related discipline with 0 years of experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience - 0-2 years of experience working with data structures or in a related technical role - Introductory exposure to algorithm design - Some exposure to SQL Server, IDMC, Informatica PowerCenter, Snowflake, and/or Control-M Preferred Requirements - Experience writing basic SQL queries and interpreting simple data models - Experience using database modeling concepts - Prior internship or academic project experience in a data-related field is a plus Skills and Abilities - Basic knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design concepts - Basic familiarity with ETL concepts and data integration principles - Analytical and critical-thinking mindset with a desire to develop problem-solving skills - Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal - Ability to collect, organize, and analyze information with attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with guidance from senior team members - Exhibits flexibility and a positive attitude toward ambiguity in a fast-paced, changing environment - Results-oriented with a dedicated work ethic Other Requirements - Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned - Regular and punctual attendance - Minimal travel required (less than 10%) #IND-HP #LI-MK1 #LI-Remote Additional Information Work Environments F&G believes in an employee-centric flexible environment, which is why we offer the ability for in-office, hybrid and remote work arrangements.
