Job Description Shift: Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm (Additional hours as needed). Our Analytical Labs – Food Chemistry team in New Orleans supports clients across the food industry with high-quality, reliable testing services including contaminants, pesticides, heavy metals, nutritional analysis, and more. We partner closely with our clients to help them meet regulatory requirements, protect their brands, and keep products moving safely through the supply chain. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to support growth for our Food Chemistry testing services. This is a remote-based role with the expectation of regular travel to the New Orleans laboratory, client sites, and industry events. The ideal candidate does not need to live in New Orleans, but must be able to travel as needed to support client relationships and internal collaboration. This role is a mix of new business development and strategic account growth, with a strong focus on understanding client needs and positioning Eurofins as a long-term partner. What You’ll Be Doing - Drive new business development within food manufacturing, processing, and related industries - Build and grow long-term client relationships at multiple levels, including technical teams and executive stakeholders - Identify client needs and position Food Chemistry testing solutions (e.g., contaminants, pesticides, heavy metals, nutritional, authenticity) - Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting → proposal → close → implementation - Partner cross-functionally with lab operations, client services, and technical teams to ensure smooth onboarding and execution - Develop and execute account plans and territory strategies - Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and forecasting in CRM (SFDC) - Represent Eurofins at industry events, trade shows, and client visits - Provide market feedback and identify new opportunities or service gaps - Support pricing strategy, proposals, and contract discussions Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Demonstrates and promotes the company vision - Regular attendance and punctuality - Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate - Achieves annual sales plan and sales targets for assigned accounts. - Establishes nurtures and grows client relationships at the appropriate levels. - Develops account plans and partnerships with key accounts. - Provides weekly sales activity reports to management. - Develops client call cycle to achieve objectives and sales plan; Follows up on leads. - Provides general intelligence on key competitors. - Sells the business unit’s capabilities and differentiation frameworks. - Recognizes and communicates sales opportunities for other business units. - Sets and manages customer expectations. - Collaborates with companywide resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction. - Organizes and hosts client visits. - Evaluates quotations for territory and provides inputs to ensure client and company requirements are met. - Uses SFDC to manage internal communication and document territory and client information as required for the business unit. - Responsible for Opportunity Management and accurate pipeline forecasting. - Collaborates effectively with sales executives from other Eurofins units to bring potential opportunities to their attention and to identify and win multi-unit projects. - Assists in determining margins and pricing with Client Services. - Participates in proposal scope development as appropriate. - Maintains frequent personal contact with clients. - Participates in corporate teams to build relationships with key accounts. - Leads client presentations. - Supports transactional clients. - Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner - Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree (science or business preferred) - 3–5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles - Proven ability to close business and meet/exceed targets - Strong relationship-building and communication skills - Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and priorities - Willingness to travel regularly (estimated 40–60%) - Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Preferred Experience - Experience in food testing, analytical labs, or life sciences - Background in Food Chemistry, contaminants, or regulatory testing - Experience selling technical or consultative services - Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) - Ability to translate technical capabilities into client value What Success Looks Like - Consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets - Building a strong pipeline of new and repeat business - Becoming a trusted partner to clients (not just a vendor) - Effectively aligning client needs with lab capabilities and capacity - Helping drive growth for the New Orleans Food Chemistry lab Travel Expectations - Regular travel to: - New Orleans laboratory as needed - Client sites - Industry events and trade shows - Travel is a core part of the role, but location is flexible Additional Information Shift: Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm (Additional hours as needed).
