Role Description The Centralized Nisa Line (CNL) Data & Evaluation Intern will assist in developing, tracking, and analyzing data that supports the pilot and implementation of Nisa Foundation's 18-hour triage call centre model. This role focuses on building impact dashboards, improving data consistency, and supporting evidence-based decision-making within a trauma-informed and community-centered framework. The intern will gain practical experience in data analysis, visualization, and social sector monitoring, learning how data informs real-world community programming. - Support the setup and maintenance of data tracking systems for the CNL project (CRM, Ring Central, Power BI inputs). - Assist in data entry, cleaning, and analysis using pre-set templates and dashboards. - Generate weekly and monthly data summaries under supervision. - Develop simple charts, infographics, or visuals to illustrate trends and insights. - Support development of a CNL performance tracker with indicators like call volume, response time, and referral outcomes (non-identifiable data). - Contribute to documentation for data protocols, definitions, and reporting templates. - Participate in evaluation meetings and help consolidate learning notes for project improvement. Qualifications - Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Data Analytics, Statistics, Social Science Research, Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field. - Foundational skills in data analysis, including data entry, data cleaning, and basic interpretation. - Working knowledge of Excel (formulas, tables, charts) with a willingness to learn advanced functions. - Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio) is an asset but not required. - Interest in evaluation, monitoring frameworks, and impact measurement within non-profit or social service environments. - Strong organizational skills with high attention to accuracy, consistency, and detail. - Ability to document processes clearly and produce simple, user-friendly visuals and summaries. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data privacy requirements, especially within trauma-informed service settings. - Professionalism, reliability, and accountability in handling information and meeting project timelines. Role Description Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Medicaid Subject Matter Expert/Data Specialist - Provide direction, guidance and recommendations supporting decision making for large Medicaid data warehouse implementation and operations. - Lead and guide internal and external stakeholders to make determinations relating to complex processes involving: - Claims processing/adjudication - Recipient eligibility - Provider enrollment - Third-party liability - Proactively identify and understand state Medicaid agency data needs and determine the recommended solution to meet them with credible reason, justification and validated proof of concepts. - Direct technical and business teams on understanding healthcare topics and utilizing healthcare data appropriately. - Proactively suggest and recommend enhancements and improvements throughout the project processes, driven by Medicaid best practices, standards and policies. Qualifications - More than ten (10) years of experience in information technology with five (5) years of experience working directly with/for State Medicaid agencies or equivalent, supporting business initiatives through data analysis, writing business requirements and testing/validation of various systems. - More than 2 years of experience working on CMS Federal Reporting MARS, PERM, T-MSIS, Quality of Care CMS Core Measure or similar projects. - Understanding of claims, recipient/eligibility, and provider/enrollment data processes. - Able to create and perform data analysis using SQL, Excel against data warehouses utilizing large datasets. - Knowledge of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services reporting requirements and the programs covered. - Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills, manager/executive/director-level client facing, team collaboration, and mentoring skills. Requirements - Core customer business hours to conduct work are M-F 8 AM - 5 PM CST.
