Job Summary The New Business Agent is a production-focused sales role centered on General Liability insurance. You will handle inbound leads, underwrite and quote policies, and guide contractors through the bind process. You will also field inbound calls across other product lines including surety bonds and Workers Compensation as volume dictates. This is a hybrid role with 1 day WFH. The remaining days will be onsite in our Sacramento office, 9am-6pm PST. Additionally, this role offers a competitive base with performance-based commission for producing agents. - Base pay: $52,000 to $62,000 per year, plus overtime as applicable - Performance-based commission tied to production — strong performers earn significantly above base - Total compensation at plan: $76,000 to $98,000+ - Commission is uncapped Position Responsibilities - Handle inbound General Liability sales leads from first contact through bound policy - Underwrite products and deliver accurate quotes based on customer needs and carrier guidelines - Field inbound calls across other commercial lines products including surety bonds and Workers Compensation - Follow up with prospects in a timely and organized manner - Process inbound payments and assist clients with account updates and policy-related items - Work with carrier partners to satisfy client requirements - Maintain accurate records and contribute to clean policy administration - Meet and exceed defined production targets and KPI objectives — your output directly contributes to the growth of the commercial lines book and the success of the team around you Minimum Qualifications - 2+ years of demonstrated experience in the insurance industry — prior sales, account management, or service role required - Working knowledge of General Liability products, underwriting basics, and carrier processes - California P&C License preferred; candidates without an active license must be willing to obtain one, we will sponsor the process - Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline, follow up consistently, and close - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products - Willing to work onsite 4 days a week, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM The starting hourly pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience.
