We are looking for a Performance Quality Engineer to own performance observability, define meaningful metrics, and drive data-informed decisions about system behavior under load. You will work directly with Platform Engineering, development teams, and product leadership to surface performance risks before they become customer-facing problems. You will report to the Senior Director of Quality Engineering and maintain a dotted-line relationship with the Sr. Director of Platform Engineering. What you'll do: - Design and create performance test suites for multiple product teams against a microservices-based SaaS platform running on AWS. - Operate and help maintain production-like environments for performance analysis, diagnosis, and regression testing. - Analyze application and infrastructure logs to identify, isolate, and help root-cause performance degradations. - Define, track, and report on performance KPIs (response times, throughput, error rates, resource utilization) and deliver trend analysis and projections to engineering leadership and product stakeholders. - Use usage and trend data to identify capacity risks and provide recommendations before they impact customers. - Collaborate with Platform Engineering, DevX, SDET, and Product teams to prioritize and validate performance improvements. - Partner with Security QE on the overlap between performance and security risk. Load and stress tests reveal how systems degrade under pressure, which is exactly what attackers exploit via DoS and resource-exhaustion vectors. This role will collaborate with Security QE to integrate security-informed scenarios (authentication storms, TLS renegotiation abuse, API rate-limit validation) into performance test plans, and surface high-resource-cost endpoints to security for assessment. - Identify and define nonfunctional performance tests for CI/CD pipeline gates (Integration, Regression, Post-Deployment). Work with DevX and Platform Engineering to establish pass/fail thresholds that catch regressions before production. - Contribute to performance engineering standards, runbooks, and best practices within the QE organization. About you: - 3+ years of hands-on performance testing and analysis on microservices-based, cloud-hosted (AWS) SaaS platforms. - Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to move from symptoms to root cause. - Background in statistical analysis: trend modeling, interpolation, extrapolation, and capacity forecasting. - Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, ECS/EKS), Docker, and Kubernetes. - Experience with performance testing tools (k6, Gatling, Locust, JMeter, or equivalent). - Experience with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and log aggregation (ELK Stack, CloudWatch). - Scripting proficiency in Python or comparable language for test scenarios, data analysis, and light tooling. Coding experience is a plus, but this role prioritizes performance engineering skill over software development depth. - Comfortable working asynchronously across multiple time zones in a remote-first team. - Fluent in English (written and spoken); Czech language skills are a plus but not required. Nice to Have: - Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines as automated quality gates. - Familiarity with APM tools and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, X-Ray). - Experience building performance dashboards and automated regression alerting. - Exposure to security-adjacent performance concerns (DDoS resilience, rate-limit validation, resource-exhaustion analysis). - Exposure to chaos engineering or resilience testing practices. - Experience with Agile/Scrum or Kanban delivery frameworks. • Enforcing the Contractor’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with contractual specifications, policies, and procedures. • Conducting quality audits, inspections, and reviews during daily operations to evaluate the quality of work performed. • Monitoring and documenting all work activities during the Government’s regular working hours to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. • Coordinating directly with the Quality Manager and ensuring independence from the Project Manager for reporting and oversight duties. • Performing inspections of completed and ongoing work to confirm that it meets all specifications, technical requirements, and quality standards. • Ensuring personnel carrying out inspections have the technical expertise and knowledge required for the work being inspected. • Maintaining detailed and accurate records of inspections, audits, and findings, and preparing reports for submission to the Quality Manager. • Ensuring compliance with documented quality processes, safety protocols, and relevant regulations. • Collaborating with personnel to identify and address nonconformities, develop corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of quality issues. • Participating in training and development initiatives to keep up-to-date with industry best practices, technical methods, and QMS compliance standards.

• Develops, evaluates, and maintains NuScale quality assurance program processes including writing instructions, procedures, and other requirement and guidance documents for the quality assurance program. • Reviews QAPD and NQAM for continuing compliance to Codes and regulations, identifying opportunities for improvement. • Also reviews Level 2 and higher NuScale procedures for compliance with the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and the Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual (NQAM). • Recommends and implements program improvements, enhancements and recommended changes. • Develop and communicate training and background information cross-functionally. • Provides guidance and support in the field of nuclear quality assurance to NuScale personnel performing activities affecting quality. • Mentors and trains others in sound approaches and standards regarding nuclear quality assurance, including effective interaction with cross functional teams and problem solving. • Develops strategies, quality plans, and procedures as needed to ensure required quality codes, standards, requirements and customer expectations are met or exceeded. • Participates in supplier qualification surveys, implementation audits, and surveillances; internal quality assurance audits, surveillances, and assessments; and root cause analyses. • Serves as subject matter expert when appropriate. • Performs other duties as assigned.

• Execute test cases for AB tests and Landing Pages across various platforms. • Build automated test cases using Playwright. • Identify, record, and track defects or issues found during testing. • Work closely with optimizers, designers, developers, and data analysts.
