Bloomreach is seeking a seasoned Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own the design and implementation of cutting-edge AI and GenAI driven algorithmic components for search, recommendation and behavioral insights that are used to personalize digital experiences for our customers. We are currently allowing flexibility for our employees to work from anywhere for the respective region (Central & Eastern Europe) or we are happy to meet you in our offices in Bratislava (Slovakia) or Brno, Prague (Czechia) on a full-time basis. Your Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhance ML/AI models which mainly power Search and Recommendation. - Process historical data, search queries, product cathalog, and images to extract hidden relations and features. - Conduct research to explore ongoing cutting-edge ML techniques (especially deep learning) and conduct a quick POC. - Work closely with Data Engineers and Senior Data Scientists to integrate and scale ML components to a production-level that can handle terabytes of data. - Continuously learn and stay up to date with the current state-of-the-art techniques by reading research papers and attending AI/ML conferences. Qualifications: - BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with a strong mathematical foundation and excellent programming skills (primarily Python) - Ideally at least 3 years of experience building ML-driven fast and scalable ML/analytical algorithms in a corporate/startup environment. - Strong awareness and understanding of recent trends in Generative AI and LLMs. Experience in working with GenAI stack will be treated as strong credentials. - Strong understanding of various machine learning and natural language processing technologies, such as classification, information retrieval, clustering, knowledge graph, semi-supervised learning and ranking. - Excellent exploratory data analysis skills with the ability to slice and dice data at scale using SQL in Redshift/BigQuery. - Good problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to learn and adapt to newer ML technologies. - Exposure to deep learning stack (PyTorch/Keras/TensorFlow) and techniques (Representation/Transfer Learning, RNN/LSTM, Transformers). - Experience working with Big Data in a cloud based production environment (AWS/GCP/Azure). - Effective communication skill in English, both verbally and in written form. #LI-KP1 More things you'll like about Bloomreach: Culture: - A great deal of freedom and trust. Detailed Job Duties: (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks which support the primary objectives) - Analytical Insights & Decision Support: - Aid executive decision making by answering key questions about user behavior. - Enable marketing decisions by conducting rigorous analyses of user acquisition, activation, and lifecycle performance to identify drivers and opportunities. - Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform product, marketing, and revenue strategy. - Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate initiatives, diagnose performance issues, identify optimization opportunities, and build optimization frameworks. - Communicate findings through compelling narratives and visualizations that support confident, data-driven decisions. - Document learnings and provide a clear understanding of underlying business dynamics. - Prototype and discover early stage ML models as appropriate to support advancement of key business areas. - Experimentation & Measurement: - Design, analyze, and interpret A/B tests and controlled experiments to evaluate product features, marketing programs, incentives, and monetization strategies. - Establish best practices for experimental design, statistical validity, and result interpretation to ensure reliable decision-making. - Measure incremental impact, causal effects, and business outcomes across lifecycle stages including acquisition, activation, retention, and re-engagement. - Partner with Product, Growth, and Marketing teams to define hypotheses, success metrics, and post-test actions. - Document experimental results and key learnings in a centralized knowledge base to promote reuse, transparency, and continuous improvement. - Data Semantics & Feature Enablement - Collaborate with BI team by informing data requirements for the semantic layer. - Expose behavioral learnings to Data Scientists & ML team to inform feature development. Over time, success is evident in a growing body of documented learnings, trusted metrics, and a measurable impact on how the organization tests, learns, and optimizes. The MUST Haves: (ex: job cannot be done without these skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses) - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. - Three or more (3+) years experience in applied analytics roles. - Strong foundation in statistical analysis and experimental design, including hypothesis testing and causal reasoning. - Understanding of frequentist and Bayesian statistical inference (e.g., PyMC) and demonstrated experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks. - Experience leading the analysis and optimization of lifecycle marketing performance across the user journey. - Fluency in SQL and ability to work with large, event-level datasets in data warehouse environments (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift). - Proficiency in Python/R (pandas, matplotlib/seaborn, tidyverse, or similar). - Ability to develop effective data visualizations that clearly communicate insights to business stakeholders. - Ability to apply AI and machine learning tools responsibly in support of predictive modeling, analysis, experimentation, and solution development, including validating outputs, documenting assumptions, and adhering to company security and confidentiality standards. - Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable business insights. - High attention to data quality, metric definitions, and analytical rigor. The Nice to Haves: (preferred additional skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses) - Experience in loyalty programs or performance marketing or market research. - Advanced Python skills and familiarity with common ML packages. - Experience building interactive dashboards in modern BI platforms. - Experience with site and product analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude). Pay Transparency: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to; the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, the type and length of knowledge and skills for the position, education, training, etc. Prodege is a multi-state employer and final compensation within this range could be impacted by work location.
