Field Engineer, Wind MCE

Pearce Services

• Required to supervise field work onsite focusing on Safety, Quality, and Efficiency. • Support lifting operations of equipment at heights over 250’. • Required to coach/conduct team members on rigging applications/inspections. • Coach/conduct safe and efficient repairs to all Wind Turbine electrical systems. • Detailed knowledge and skill in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment. • Coach/train personnel on how to perform proper isolation of electrical components (LOTO). • Ability to read and interpret schematics by various Wind Turbine manufacturers. • Will be required to have the ability to recognize MAJOR faults and develop corrective actions with engineering team.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 YEARS direct product experience on one or more platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics by various Wind Turbine manufacturers.
  • Proficient in using dial calipers, fluke meters, and all other tools used on WTG.
  • Experience with SCADA and other monitoring tools for WTG.
  • Attention to detail and safety focused.
  • Travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

These position are "remote" meaning you can align to either our San Jose or San Francisco offices. You do have to be local to the NorCal area to complete the assigned field work. In these positions, prior experience monitoring around heavy equipment and conducting cultural surveys is preferred. Candidates must be willing to work independently and feel comfortable directing construction crews in the field. Requirements and Qualifications - BA or higher in Anthropology, Archaeology or closely related field. - The ability to independently identify prehistoric and historic-era cultural resources in the field. - 0 - 3 years of progressive experience participating in cultural resources field projects in California with a minimum of 2 being ideal. - Excellent interpersonal communication and attention to detail. - Strong writing skills and clarity in notetaking. - Experience with MS Office. - Ability to communicate efficiently and respond quickly while working in the field. - Experience working on state and federal lands. - Experience working alongside Native American monitors in the field. - The ability to stand for long periods of time and hike long distances in rugged conditions. - Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, total station, iPad etc.) and GIS applications and software.
