Location: Needham, Mass Experience Level: 1-3 years Function: Research & Development About the Role Shark is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer II to join our R&D team and help develop the next generation of innovative consumer products. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, enjoys building products from the ground up, and approaches new technical challenges with curiosity, optimism, and grit. Key Responsibilities - Lead and contribute to the design, prototyping, and development of new products from early concept through production - Create and iterate mechanical and electromechanical designs, integrating motors, sensors, actuators, PCBs, and controls - Build, test, and refine functional prototypes using in-house lab tools, rapid prototyping methods, and supplier support - Collaborate closely with EE, Industrial Design, Product Development, New Product Development, and testing teams to deliver robust product solutions - Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for mechanical and system-level issues - Translate product requirements into CAD models, drawings, tolerances, and specifications - Support design validation, reliability testing, and design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA) - Maintain a positive, solution-oriented mindset when tackling ambiguous or first-of-their-kind problems Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field - 1-3 years of industry experience in product development or R&D - Strong hands-on prototyping experience, including building and testing physical hardware - Solid understanding of electromechanical systems (motors, gearing, mechanisms, basic electronics integration) - Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar) - Experience developing products from concept to production - Comfortable working in a fast-moving, iterative environment with evolving requirements - Demonstrated ability to approach new problems with energy, creativity, and a positive attitude Preferred Qualifications - Experience in consumer products, appliances, or high-volume manufacturing - Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, machining, soft tooling) - Experience working with simulation tools, e.g., CFD, FEA. • Reporting to the Manager, NSSS Piping and Integration, this position performs design and analysis of the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) pipe systems in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III and applicable regulatory requirements. • Performs complex piping design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping systems using the Bentley AutoPIPE computer program in accordance with the requirements of NB, NC, ND-3600, respectively. • Performs piping design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping components using the ANSYS computer program in accordance with the requirements of NB-3200. • Performs pipe support design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III NF supports using hand calculations or ANSYS computer program. • Performs static and dynamic analysis including response spectrum and time history analysis to calculate stresses due to deadweight, thermal expansion, thermal gradients, seismic events, and fluid transients. • Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical aspects of piping components associated with NSSS systems. • The development of Drawings and CAD models is based on collaboration with drafters and requires the engineer to reviews models that have been developed in Siemens NX. • Leads the evaluation of design solutions (piping re-route, reconfigurations of supports, etc.) which satisfy piping stress criteria. • Works on complex tasks in multiple and diverse areas. Interprets scope and project requirements. • Acquires, maintains and develops training qualifications. Performs other duties as assigned. • Provides oversight and mentoring to early career engineers in the area of piping stress analysis and/or pipe support analysis. Certifies design specification for ASME BPVC Section III Piping and/or Piping Supports.

As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will: - Maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of conveyor and automation systems, including belted and roller conveyors, MDR conveyors, ASRS, sorters, palletizing, and GTP systems. - Keep systems running by addressing issues with motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, encoders, and more. - Tackle both basic and advanced electrical and mechanical challenges. - Perform preventive and predictive maintenance using job plans, procedures, and manuals. - Travel to job sites directly from home to ensure critical equipment remains operational in high-paced environments.
