Job Description

Marketing and Communications Assistant

Dakota Woodlands

• Assist with social media management, including creating and scheduling posts • Support development and distribution of email communications (e.g., newsletters, announcements, campaigns) • Help design marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, and digital graphics • Update and maintain content on the Dakota Woodlands website • Assist in creating presentations for community outreach, donors, and stakeholders • Support storytelling efforts by helping draft and share client success stories (while maintaining confidentiality and dignity) • Help prepare and distribute quarterly newsletters (digital and print) • Assist with assembling mailings and outreach materials • Provide general support for marketing campaigns, events, and communications projects • Perform other related tasks as needed to support the mission

Job Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools preferred)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Passion for nonprofit work and a heart for serving families in need
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
