Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket is looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our team. This position will provide technical rating and policy issuance support to the Underwriting Team. The position will utilize manual and automated systems in the rating, coding, and policy issuance for all transactions and all lines of business. JOB DUTIES: - Reviews new business submissions for required paperwork. - Responsible for maintaining file set-up and documentation. - Completes endorsement set-up for agent change requests, new business inspection requests, and the Department of Transportation filings. - Responsible for e-mail attachments and assignments. - Prepares legal notification documents. - Runs various processing and underwriting reports. - Pulls loss run reports and documents file. - Handles claims set-up and tracks all claims reported to the program. - Completes the Program Excel spreadsheet entry. - Rates and issues quotes, endorsements and policies for all lines of business. - Accepts, modifies, or declines transactions within delegated authority. - Reviews and prepares submissions for Underwriters. - Communicate with brokers on paperwork and requests, status of transactions and other issues or concerns. - Consistently adheres to underwriting letter of authority, guidelines, and insurance laws. - Processes work within service level agreement timeframe while achieving productivity and quality standards. - Communicates directly with the Underwriters regarding all aspects of risk. - Participates and completes special projects as assigned. - Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or equivalent and two to five years related experience in the insurance industry and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Associate’s degree preferred. - Have high levels of accuracy along with a specific focus on timeliness, productivity, and quality. - Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. - Have strong organizational skills and be detail oriented. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Must be comfortable working in a high volume, production environment.
