Deputy Project Manager, Common Control Actuation Systems

• Support the Program Manager for continual growth of common product business • Help compile and manage program and production forecasts • Manage overhead planning and management of special projects • Stakeholder management across Strategic Business Units (SBUs) • Act as a liaison between department members, functional leadership, and supported programs to align technical and programmatic objectives. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality, to ensure program success. • Provide execution oversight of Independent Research and Development (IRAD) • Coordinate across common product owners for strategic and technical direction • Ensure adherence to centralized processes, procedures, and technical rigor across the section. • Monitor program execution, provide technical oversight, and resolve engineering challenges throughout the product lifecycle. • Lead by example, fostering a culture of respect, ethical behavior, and continuous improvement. • Manage communications across the department which include, communicating key updates, successes, and challenges to leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • 8 years’ experience with technical engineering background, leading teams in the aerospace or government sector.
  • Experience working across multiple DoD programs or initiatives.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Role Description You will be a Senior Project Manager from a Construction background and will be a solution driven individual that can demonstrate a willingness to engage, drive and complete projects and where required understand and seek the necessary support to drive these projects to completion. These projects will be varied in size, scope, and complexity and this requires a flexible approach with a “can do” mindset. Days of working: - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - Mon - Thurs 08:00am - 17:00pm - Fri - 08:00am - 15:30pm This individual will be responsible for the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across HVAC, M&E and Fit-Out/Building Fabric elements specific to our client base which includes: - Understanding of cradle to grave Project Management - Delivery of Projects from conception through to completion in conjunction with the Regional Operations Manager. - Efficiency - Ensure the utilisation and efficiency of the resource within the projects team on every project. - This role may include but not be limited to the various facets of project management in many forms, such as: - Client facing - Liaising and working in conjunction with the potential for numerous client/stakeholders and their various perspectives, throughout all aspects of the project. - Developing client’s requirements to produce a project specific proposal, fundamentally answering the clients scope ask. - Managing project specific costs to meet the client budget and programme. - Agreeing measurable KPI’s for each project. - Ensure client satisfaction. - Resource Management - Management of and development of project teams. - Effectively manage staff/labour under their control to maximise efficiencies. - Empower our employees with targets and goals to maximise their potential. - Control of supply chain partners. - Contract mobilisation and operational support. - Ensuring all project personnel possess the necessary skills and have the appropriate training opportunities to carry out their job functions (e.g., Confined Space). - Interface with internal business functions (e.g., commercial, H&S Team, procurement). - Engineering - Understand client scope, develop the same, drive solutions and proposals including development of costs in conjunction with the wider team. - Engagement with supply chain partners and sub-contractors to maximise the solutions. - Delivery of design and build projects. - Project Delivery - Ensuring compliance with all aspects of health & safety legislation to protect the client and the business. - Organise and chair and record all relevant project meetings. - Management of all building services installations. - Delivery of projects within timescale and budget. - Continuous improvement in line with the client’s requirements. - Commercial - Develop knowledge of various contract, including NEC and other forms of contract. - Programme financial control. - Ability to maximise opportunities and improve margin returns. - Understand and develop contract change mechanisms and report these in a timeous manner to deliver the contract.
