Who we are With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility. What we need Symbotic is seeking a Cross-Functional Program Manager – PMO to lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that improve portfolio execution performance (schedule, cost, quality, and delivery readiness). This role is responsible for planning and driving complex improvement programs that span multiple departments and functional groups – bringing structure, cadence, and accountability to work that does not naturally “live” in one function. The ideal candidate is a strong project leader who can operate at both strategic and tactical altitude: aligning stakeholders on scope and outcomes, building integrated plans, running effective decision forums (including Obeya-style visual management where appropriate), and ensuring initiatives deliver measurable results. This position reports to the PMO Lead and partners closely with Project Execution leadership and functional owners across the enterprise. What we do The PMO enables Symbotic’s Project Execution organization by building operating mechanisms that improve predictable delivery: standardized governance, cross-functional coordination, portfolio transparency, and continuous improvement. We accelerate execution by clarifying ownership, improving decision cycles, and deploying scalable systems and ways of working that help teams deliver on Symbotic’s organizational pillars—Deliver Budget, Elevate Talent, and Invest in Development. What you’ll do - Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of cross-functional PMO initiatives, ensuring alignment to organizational goals, measurable outcomes, and delivery timelines. - Build integrated project plans (scope, milestones, dependencies, resourcing, risks) and drive execution through disciplined project management practices. - Establish and run operating rhythms (weekly working sessions, leadership readouts, decision reviews) to maintain momentum and resolve blockers. - Apply visual management and Obeya principles as appropriate for standing up project rooms/boards, defining metrics, and driving transparent decision-making. - Partner with functional leaders to define objectives, requirements, deliverables, and success criteria; translate ambiguous problems into executable plans. - Drive stakeholder alignment across departments, escalating issues and trade-offs with clear options, impacts, and recommendations. - Proactively identify risks, constraints, and dependencies; lead cross-functional teams in mitigation planning and corrective actions. - Drive a culture of continuous improvement—capturing lessons learned, standardizing best practices, and improving PMO processes and governance mechanisms. - Support rollout and adoption of PMO methodologies (templates, SOPs, governance routines, training) to scale improvements across the portfolio. - Coordinate with systems owners (Jira/Smartsheet/BI as applicable) to ensure initiative tracking, reporting, and visibility are accurate and decision useful. What you’ll need - Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field. - Minimum 8 years of project management experience, with a track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives from initiation through implementation. - Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across multiple stakeholder groups and leadership levels. - Strong working knowledge of project execution fundamentals: scheduling, field coordination, risk management, change control, and governance. - Experience with lean / continuous improvement tools and/or Obeya-style visual management; able to facilitate structured problem solving and decision cycles. - Experience supporting project delivery of automated systems (e.g., ASRS, conveyors/packaging lines) or large-scale industrial deployments preferred. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify root causes and translate them into practical corrective actions. - Proficiency with MS Suite, Jira, and familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Smartsheet) and reporting systems preferred. - Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce executive-ready updates and facilitate effective working sessions. Our Environment - Travel up to 25% (varies by initiative and project needs). - Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites and offices as required. - The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing reimbursable expenses in accordance with company policy. - Ability to work in and around active construction environments as required. #LI-RA1 #LI-Remote About Symbotic Symbotic is an automation technology leader reimagining the supply chain with its end-to-end, AI-powered robotic and software platform.
