Job Description

Manager – Emergency Management and Business Continuity

Bon Secours Mercy Health

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of a system approach to Emergency Management (EM), Continuity of Operations, (COOP), Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) programs. • Focus on business impact analysis data, business unit and information technology recovery strategies, crisis management plans, business continuity and disaster recovery plans, emergency preparedness response plans, and testing program strategies and metrics. • Ensure that EM and BC program policies and standards are monitored for compliance and that controls are defined and implemented to ensure plans are maintained and exercised. • Manage the development and implementation of local system specific EM/BC planning to coordinate with existing industry methodologies and BSMH infrastructure standards, cybersecurity standards and policy. • Address the recovery process including emergency response organization and procedures, recovery support procedures for restoring key information systems, and operational procedures for the continuation of critical business processes. • Educate and raise awareness among BSMH leadership and workforce on EM/BC planning and response. • Assure records required for recovery are properly maintained in a Vital Records Program. • Build knowledge and proficiency in Emergency Management & Business Continuity concepts and lifecycle & manage relationships with EM/BC/DR vendors. • Organize needed functions and systems to provide business recovery planning methodologies to all levels of the company. • Coordinate reviews, analyze data, write new plans, and update existing business continuity, emergency management and disaster recovery plans. • Act as the liaison between the Business and Information Technology teams, Protective Service teams and Emergency Management teams.

Job Requirements

  • CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional ) or CHPCP (Certified Healthcare Provider Continuity Professional) (preferred upon hire, required within 6 months of hire)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • 5 years' experience in the information system, emergency management, and / or healthcare security field in a multi-facility environment (required)
  • Knowledge of business continuity and/or disaster recovery solutions and practices
  • Experienced in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses
  • Experience with technical writing of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity policies
  • Experience with internal controls, application review, internal IT testing or auditing
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare field

Identifies and analyzes exposures and controls. May also deliver consultative or technical services to policyholders.
