Role Description The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the organization’s IT infrastructure including servers, network systems, storage, firewalls, switches, endpoint devices, and cloud-based services. This role serves as a key member of the IT team requiring a reliable, detail-oriented professional who can ensure the stability, security, and performance of all systems while supporting the organization’s operational needs and driving successful execution of IT initiatives. Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities: - Lead and oversee enterprise IT initiatives, including system upgrades, infrastructure migrations, and disaster recovery planning, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. - Proactively monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance; diagnose and resolve complex technical issues; and implement updates, patches, and enhancements to maintain system integrity and security. - Administer and optimize cloud-based platforms, including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, SharePoint, and related integrations. - Provide end-to-end project management, including scope development, planning, resource coordination, risk mitigation, and timely delivery of technology solutions within established timelines and budgets. - Collaborate with key stakeholders to define business requirements, develop technical solutions, track progress, and communicate status throughout the project lifecycle. - Provide level two technical support to end users ensuring timely resolution of issues and high quality support. - Develop, maintain, and continuously improve technical documentation and system architecture to ensure operational continuity and compliance. - Manage vendor relationships, including evaluation, performance, and service-level oversight. - Design and deliver training to staff on new technologies, system enhancements, and best practices to support adoption and efficient use. - Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing work, recommend system improvements, and implement technology strategies that support organizational needs. - Maintain confidentiality. - Work a 24/7/365 on call rotation. - Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications - 2+ years of experience in support desk or systems administrator roles. - Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms. - Familiarity with cloud platforms, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and others. - Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills. - Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred). - Basic understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN (preferred). - Experience with backup and disaster recovery processes (preferred). - Familiarity with endpoint management and security tools (preferred). - Experience in a nonprofit or healthcare environment (preferred). - Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications (preferred). - Exposure to compliance frameworks such as NIST 800‑171 or HIPAA (preferred). Requirements - Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills. - Customer service skills. - Time management skills and the ability to work independently. - Maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable through IDN’s insurance. - Make timely and appropriate decisions. - Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment. Physical Requirements - Must have a high level of customer service and ability to communicate to a diverse audience. - Requires travel between office locations and the ability to work evenings or weekends. - Lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. - Possible mental and visual fatigue associated with detailed work. - Express ideas verbally and convey detailed or important spoken information. - Receive detailed information through oral and auditory communication. - Maintain a current valid driver’s license and be insurable through IDN’s insurance. - Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
