What You’ll Do: - Facilitate peer-to-peer education supporting clinical validity, clinical utility, and real-world implementation of our diagnostic solutions such as procalcitonin in aiding antibiotic stewardship. - Provide clinicians with peer-reviewed literature, best practices, and protocol examples to support responsible integration of our clinical biomarkers into patient management algorithms - Coach existing users on expanding utilization beyond limited or single-indication use cases and support institutions in optimizing antimicrobial stewardship protocols incorporating procalcitionin - Respond to off-label medical information requests with balanced scientific and technical information, serving as the clinical expert on diseases and assays. - Identify and profile Advisors, Key Opinion Leaders, and other influencers in the therapeutic areas of interest for B·R·A·H·M·S biomarkers, fostering scientific dialogue and relationships with infectious disease specialists, intensivists, emergency physicians, antimicrobial stewardship leaders, and pediatric thought leaders across Canada. - Develop a network of credible peer educators to deliver compliant, evidence-based presentations at hospitals, regional meetings, and professional society events. - Attend scientific medical congresses, engage in scientific conversations, prepare conference reports, and create post-meeting communications. - Present and support dissemination of clinical evidence at national and regional meetings (e.g., infectious disease, critical care, emergency medicine, pediatric, and stewardship-focused societies). - Strengthen scientific awareness to support broader guideline recognition and institutional adoption across Canada. - Collaborate with the Market Access, Value and Evidence team in shaping the regional health economic evidence strategy, provide scientific input to Health Technology Assessments (HTAs), represent the scientific voice in payer engagements and communicate compelling HEOR data to key opinion leaders. - Create and update medical content and educational materials for internal and external use, ensuring the scientific validity of Marketing and Sales materials. - Support the organization’s digital transformation with medical and scientific content. - Generate insights and medical value propositions to inform the selection of clinical indications and use cases in collaboration with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and other internal functions. - Provide expert knowledge and disease state insights for clinical study protocol design and review investigator-initiated study concepts. - Identify opportunities with leading researchers for future research projects and channel collaboration proposals to the internal review board. Education: - Graduate degree or equivalent experience required. - Advanced scientific degree (MSc, PhD, MD) or equivalent experience with at least 3-4 years' experience in infectious disease strongly preferred Position Requirements and Experience: - The position requires 3 to 4 days of travel per week that may include multiple overnights. - Previous work history with in vitro diagnostics and direct involvement in antibiotic management strongly preferred, ideally within a Medical Affairs role - Native English speaker with fluency in French preferred Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: - Strong communication skills both in writing and via formal presentation - Excellent problem solving and persuasion skills and the ability to create success by professionally presenting Thermo Fisher Scientific (TFS) to both individuals and multidisciplinary groups - Capability for scientific, creative and strategic thinking, and an ability to present and maintain fair-balanced during scientific discussions/presentations - Demonstrated comprehensive skills in establishing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of external thought leaders including physicians, pharmacists, and allied healthcare professionals.
