As a full time, exempt Associate Data Analyst on the Data and Analytics team you will play a critical role in data manipulation and build dashboards in Power BI. You are expected to review stakeholder requirements to meet the data-related needs, write and execute SQL queries to create datasets used for analysis, understand and answer stakeholder questions about the underlying data, and contribute to the continuous learning and improvement of the analytics team by brainstorming solutions to challenges and providing thorough documentation. This position reports to the Director, Reporting & Analytics. Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship or restrictions. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: - Utilize SQL language to extract data from database or third party sources - Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources utilizing visualization tools - Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets - Work efficiently within Agile framework and deliver data product aligned with technical and functional requirements in timely manner - Perform assigned internal and/or external cadence reporting - Locate and define new process improvement opportunities - Perform other related duties as assigned You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics or related field - Experience with Microsoft Office products: MS Word, Outlook, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams - Experience with queries, report writing, and presenting findings - Experience with BI platforms such as AWS Quicksight and MS Power BI - Able to query database utilizing MySQL or SQL Server - Proven exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills - A track record of following through on commitments using excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Database and Reporting packages such as SQL or Python - Experience with Python for data manipulation, cleaning, and analyzing - Healthcare experience especially with EMR Data - Proven self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Proven effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with internal and external clients - Proven advanced technical skills and excellent documentation skills - Demonstrated time and organizational management skills - Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities - Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts and express them in clear language *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
