• Lead and manage the general accounting functions, including overseeing the maintenance of accurate financial records, account reconciliations, and the preparation of journal entries. • Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. • Oversee and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. • Conduct detailed account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly and efficiently. • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing comprehensive financial data, analysis, and recommendations. • Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and insights to auditors. • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures, promoting best practices and ensuring strong internal controls. • Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment. • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic business decisions. • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, with a background in a large accounting firm.
  • Extensive understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The Controllership team is a vital part of the broader VistaPrint Finance organization. We are responsible for the global accounting operations, the accuracy of periodic financial results, financial policy, compliance, and control for all of VistaPrint. This is a remote position, with periodic travel expected to Windsor, Ontario, Canada and Waltham, MA to build relationships, foster collaboration, and gain operational insight across the region. What You Will Do As an Accounting Manager within the North America Controllership team, you will be a leader demonstrating significant initiative and the ability to manage day-to-day accounting operations. In this role, you will own defined accounting processes and associated legal entities end-to-end, providing the operational oversight necessary to ensure consistency, control, and efficiency. You will act as the primary accounting owner and partner for your scope of responsibility, proactively managing your piece of the monthly/quarterly reporting cycle, and driving process maturity while maintaining high-quality individual output. - Lead the end-to-end accounting operations for functional areas, and/or legal entities, ensuring the quality and predictability of the monthly/quarter reporting cycle. - Translate leadership and business priorities into actionable work plans, managing timelines and resource coordination to ensure success. - Serve as the primary contact for the business in your assigned area of scope, providing accounting insights on key transactions and financial results. - Oversee accounting policy application and judgements across the region. - Lead redesign and improvement initiatives such as automation and process standardization that scale beyond individual tasks to enhance functional maturity. - Ensure the consistent application of internal controls and governance frameworks across the region. - Provide direction, prioritization, and clear expectations to other team members, fostering growth through leadership even without formal line management. - Serve as the central coordination point for external/internal auditors within the region, managing documentation and aligning on key processes.
