Treasury and Accounting Manager

• Oversee daily cash management, including cash positioning, intercompany transfers, and short-term investments. • Develop and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts and long-range liquidity models. • Manage banking relationships, negotiate fees, and ensure optimal utilization of credit facilities. • Monitor covenant compliance and prepare periodic reporting to lenders and management. • Be proficient in existing treasury management systems and/or automation tools. • Oversee general ledger integrity and month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements. • Ensure compliance with GAAP (or IFRS, as applicable) and corporate accounting policies. • Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors. • Maintain and enhance internal controls over treasury and accounting processes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA.
- Strong understanding of cash management, financial instruments, and GAAP.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and treasury management tools.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Overview Join Instacart’s Revenue Accounting team and help shape how we recognize and report revenue across our rapidly evolving retailer ecosystem. You will focus on retailer-related revenue streams while supporting international expansion and future acquisitions, partnering closely with teams across Accounting & Finance, Data, Legal, Sales, and Operations to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful results. This role is a foundational member of a new international revenue accounting pod composed of a Manager and a Senior Accountant. You will roll up your sleeves to operationalize new markets, standardize policies, and drive automation using tools like Alteryx and AI-enabled workflows—all in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. About the Job - Own end-to-end revenue accounting for retailer-related revenue streams across multiple entities, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue analytics under ASC 606. - Support international expansion and acquisitions by operationalizing revenue policies, mapping data and opening balances, and integrating new entities and products into our revenue processes and systems. - Drive process improvement and automation using tools such as Alteryx and SQL-enabled workflows to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and shorten close timelines. - Partner cross-functionally with Finance (FP&A, Billing, Collections), Data/Engineering, Legal, and Sales to ensure contract terms, data pipelines, and system configurations align with revenue recognition requirements. - Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, prepare audit-ready documentation, and manage external audit and SOX requests related to retailer revenue. - Deliver clear, decision-ready reporting and insights on revenue drivers, trends, and variances, and proactively identify risks and opportunities as the business evolves. About You Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - 4+ years of experience in revenue accounting under US GAAP, including hands-on ownership of month-end close activities and account reconciliations. - Practical knowledge of ASC 606 (revenue recognition), including contract review, variable consideration, and deferred revenue. - Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups) and comfort working with large datasets and revenue subledgers; experience preparing audit-ready workpapers. - Experience operating in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional partners and maintaining SOX-compliant processes and documentation. Preferred Qualifications - CPA (active) or progress toward CPA. - Experience with international operations, multi-entity/multi-currency environments, and familiarity with IFRS 15. - Hands-on experience with ERP and revenue systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workday Financials, Zuora, RevPro/RevRec), and data/automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, SQL, Python). - Background supporting M&A integrations (policy alignment, system/process onboarding, opening balance and data mapping). - Track record of driving measurable process improvements that reduce manual work and accelerate close timelines. #LI-Remote Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. • Own end-to-end accounting across AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, accruals, and deferrals for all entities, with full accountability for accuracy and timeliness. • Lead the full insourcing of core accounting from the external bookkeeper within your first three months, capturing processes, SLAs, and controls to ensure zero disruption. • Drive a reliable, repeatable monthly close, targeting below 5 days (always dreamed about zero day close?), with a documented close calendar and clear ownership. • Lead group consolidation (intercompany eliminations, FX translation, reporting packages) and enforce consistent accounting policies across all legal entities. • Own the IFRS conversion roadmap: identify HGB-to-IFRS gaps, build transition policies, and prepare the function for group reporting under IFRS from 2027. • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, coordinate statutory audits, and lead selection of the group auditor. • Design a tax-efficient group structure that supports scalable international growth across existing and future entities. • Ensure VAT/GST and indirect tax compliance across all markets and mitigate permanent establishment risks. • Establish transfer pricing frameworks, intercompany agreements, and tax documentation in collaboration with external advisors. • Stand up accounting operations for the UK and US entities (in-house or via local partners) and onboard qualified tax advisors for both jurisdictions. • Build a robust internal control framework aligned with audit readiness and future capital markets requirements. • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors, acting as the primary interface. • Co-lead ERP evaluation, selection, and implementation alongside the Finance Systems team to deliver a scalable finance automation stack. • Drive automation of routine entries, approvals, and reconciliations, targeting 50% or more of routine processes automated within 12 months. • Champion AI adoption within the accounting function, using it to accelerate close, improve accuracy, and free the team for higher-value work. • Lead and develop a team of accountants with a builder-coach mindset, owning hiring, onboarding, and development as the team scales. • Partner closely with FP&A (financial reporting, cash forecasting), RevOps (quote-to-cash), People (payroll/benefits), and Legal (entity/compliance) on cross-functional initiatives. • Prepare the accounting, tax, and control environment for future milestones including a potential IPO.
