Role type: Full-time, full remote (Mexico) Salary Range: $1,800–$2,500 USD / month Timezone: ET We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant with strong experience in construction accounting to support financial operations across multiple projects. This role requires someone who is highly organized, experienced in industry-specific processes, and comfortable working with project teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting. Key Responsibilities - Manage project-level accounting, including budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting - Prepare and process AIA pay applications and track progress billing - Monitor project costs, job costing, and variance analysis - Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks - Collaborate with project managers to ensure budgets and financials are aligned - Handle accounts payable and receivable related to construction projects - Reconcile accounts and ensure timely month-end close processes - Support compliance with contract terms and financial requirements

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction accounting
  • Strong knowledge of AIA billing and pay applications
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks
  • Experience using Procore or similar construction management software
  • Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience working with U.S.-based construction companies
  • Familiarity with lien waivers, retainage, and subcontractor billing
  • Advanced Excel skills
