DF-291_Data & Analytics Engineer Location: Remote Base Salary Rate: $118,776.00 - $139,725.00 Job type: Full-time About This Role Kidde is looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer with a passion for data and strong analytics capabilities to help grow our business. The Data & Analytics Engineer will support profitable and sustainable sales strategies with customers and help develop advanced sales reporting and analytics capabilities for scale. Key Responsibilities - Leverage data tools to provide reporting and insights which will further develop company and retailer objectives. - Create and maintain customer scorecards inclusive of key metrics such as volume, share, distribution, weekly sales ranks, store performance, etc. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. - Responsible for developing and running weekly and monthly brand reports to help partnership teams understand trends. - Ability to prioritize work and key projects based on the needs of the team and the business - Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines to move and transform data from disparate sources (Excel, ERP, CRM, operational systems) into the enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake). - Develop and manage data models (dimensional and semantic layers) that enable analysts and business users to access trusted, well-structured data for reporting. - Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to translate reporting/analytics needs into scalable data solutions while documenting definitions and lineage. - Ad-hoc requests/projects as needed. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree - 4+ years of experience data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or analytics engineering Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data engineering or related field, OR equivalent hands-on experience - Proficient in SQL (writing, optimizing and troubleshooting complex queries) - Understanding of database concepts such as database structures, query languages (SQL), and data warehousing principles. - Experience working with ETL and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, other). - Proven track record of building collaborative relationships across functional areas. - Self-starter with an ability to drive projects from initiation to completion. - Adept at prioritizing work and key projects based on the needs of the team and the business. The Analytics Engineer will play an integral role on our Data Infrastructure & Performance (DIP) team. This person will have the chance to expand our Analytics using dbt. This layer aims to make our data easier to use, and insights easier to extract than ever before. The ideal candidate has high standards for their work, and for that of their peers. They should demonstrate a practical expertise in building enterprise solutions at scale, identifying opportunities to improve user experience, and pushing the envelope of data modeling. We are looking for a motivated, energetic candidate with experience creatively solving data complexities of various sizes and levels of cleanliness - with the ultimate goal of enabling analysts, product managers, and peers throughout Toast to make data-informed decisions. A day in the life (Responsibilities) - Develop the Analytics layer in our data warehouse using dbt code. This layer of our data warehouse makes our source data more accessible and consistent for our stakeholders, enabling them to get the data they need to make the right decisions. - Define complex business logic using SQL to help measure success across various departments & teams. - Collaborate with business partners to understand their data needs, and ensure those needs are met by our dbt models. - Work closely with both the data engineering team to ensure scalability across the DIP platform. What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) - Experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, and/or Data Engineering roles. - Experience developing in dbt. - Highly proficient in SQL. You can interpret and optimize queries for performance, written by other analysts and engineers. - Thrive in a fast-paced work environment and comfortable operating under ambiguity. You are up to the challenge of designing standards and best practices from the ground up and love collaborating with colleagues to solve complex problems. - Bachelor's degree in an advanced quantitative field (or equivalent experience); such as mathematics, economics/finance, computer science, or physical science.
