Role Description UNICEF USA seeks a UNICEF Next Generation intern. The intern will work in collaboration with UNICEF USA’s Managing Director, Assistant Director, and Manager of the UNICEF USA Next Generation program. We are currently seeking paid interns for our cohort that will take place Summer 2026. The dates will be June 2 - August 21, 2026. This internship would provide an opportunity to learn about: - Donor engagement, stewardship, and cultivation - Social media and communication - Research and benchmarking - Gen Z and Millennial philanthropy trends Key Responsibilities/Projects: - Conduct, present, and make recommendations for the NextGen program based off of research findings on Gen Z and millennial philanthropy trends. - Create and build NextGen toolkits for events. - Assist NextGen manager with content gathering, social activations, and brainstorming for NextGen socials and communications. - Assist Assistant Director to conduct research on prospective NextGen members at various engagement levels: Community monthly pledge members, Collective members, and Council members. - Support NextGen projects as needed through research and benchmarking. Qualifications - Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program. - Must be authorized to work in the United States for the entire timeline (June 2, 2026 – August 21, 2026). - Interns can work up to 30 hours maximum a week during the Summer cohort. - Must provide their own equipment (e.g. laptop) and have access to a stable internet connection. - Interest in program management, event planning, nonprofit management, or related field preferred. - Must have experience with community organizing, volunteer management, and a passion for inspiring others (extracurricular activities, leaders of clubs, etc.). - Extensive knowledge of the community for which the candidate is applying a plus. - The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of children's rights and international issues, as well as a commitment to public service. - The ideal candidate will be resourceful and energetic with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously with attention to detail. - Innovation, creativity, and a team player mentality are necessary for success in this role. - Demonstrated ability to lead effective presentations and workshops and ease in public speaking for groups large and small. - Experience working with students or in educational programming is a plus. - Proven ability to work well with a diverse group of people in a team setting; additional language(s) a plus. - Strong communication skills, both oral and written; experience working with cross-country teams a plus. - Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred. - Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA. Requirements - Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship. Benefits - The pay for this role is $18.00 per hour, up to 30 hours per week.
