We are seeking an experienced Testing Automation Tool SME for an opportunity with a large Federal customer. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of experience working with automated testing tools such as Katalon Studio, Selenium, Cucumber, or Eggplant to perform testing activities for a large ERP system. The Testing Automation Tool SME will support the testing team with determining which manual tests are suitable for automation and creating those tests for automation. These tests will be conducted as part of an implementation release of Momentum Financials ERP within a large Federal agency. Automation may be considered for system integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The Testing Automation Tool SME should be a self-starter who can work collaboratively with non-technical team members and take ownership of work assignments and project schedules. This position is remote but may require occasional domestic business trips to customer facilities primarily in Washington, DC and Austin, TX. Some overtime work may be required to support this fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities: - Serve as the primary subject matter expert for test automation tools (e.g., Katalon Studio) used in support of Momentum Financials testing. - Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks aligned with enterprise standards. - Evaluate and recommend automation approaches, tools, and best practices to maximize testing efficiency and minimize testing complexity. - Lead development of automated test scripts for Momentum Financials software to include regression and performance testing, as well as system integration and user acceptance testing as appropriate. - Mentor and coach manual testers on how to build and execute automated tests using Katalon Studio or other automation tools. - Ensure automated scripts are version-controlled, traceable, and well documented. - Configure, maintain, and upgrade the automation tool environment and related plugins. - Integrate automation tools with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI) to enable continuous testing. - Manage test environment connectivity, data dependencies, and tool access for the testing team. Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree - 8 years of software testing experience, including at least 4 years in test automation. - Hands on experience developing automated tests using an automated tool such as Katalon Studio, Selenium, Cucumber, or Eggplant. - Experience working within or supporting federal agencies or highly regulated environments. - Ability to work within multi environment federal testing ecosystems (e.g., DEV, TEST, UAT, PreProd). - Knowledge of requirements traceability and documentation standards used in federal programs. - Proficiency with Groovy, Java, or similar common scripting languages used within automation frameworks. - Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks, including keyword driven, data driven, or hybrid models. - Strong understanding of API and GUI testing capabilities. - Practical experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI). - Experience with version control systems such as Git (GitHub, GitLab, Azure Repos). - Ability to analyze test failures and perform root cause analysis. - Strong written and oral communication skills. - Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.  Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs.  - Experience testing financial systems, ERP modules, or similar enterprise applications. - Experience with SQL and database software such as SQL Developer - Experience with software for the Momentum database Benefits (including but not limited to): - Health, dental, and vision plans - Optional FSA - Paid parental leave - Safe Harbor 401(k) with employer contributions 100% vested from day 1 - Paid time off and 11 paid holidays - No cost group term life/AD&D plan, and optional supplemental coverage - Pet insurance - Monthly phone and internet stipend - Tuition and training reimbursement $115,000 - $135,000 a year This range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands.
