Senior Mobile Engineer

Peerspace

• Lead and implement the end-to-end technical implementation of major features on our mobile roadmap, taking them from concept to production on both the App Store and Google Play Store. • Break down product requirements into technical specifications and tasks. You will architect features that are scalable and align with Peerspace’s broader mobile architecture. • Ensure the application remains fast and stable. You will proactively monitor performance, fix bugs, and maintain high test coverage for your contributions. • Write and maintain native code (Swift/Kotlin) when necessary to bridge the gap between React Native and platform-specific APIs. • Act as a technical mentor to mid-level and junior engineers on your team, fostering a culture of learning and engineering excellence through code reviews and pair programming. • Work closely with Backend Engineers to define API contracts and with Platform Engineers to improve our mobile CI/CD pipelines.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with deep professional experience building and deploying mobile applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of React Native and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with the native mobile ecosystems (iOS/Swift and Android/Kotlin), specifically regarding build tools, native modules, and debugging native crashes.
  • Experience with state management, navigation libraries, native module integration, and functional programming principles.
  • You care deeply about the end-user experience. You don't just write code; you partner with designers and product managers to refine requirements and advocate for high-quality UI/UX.
  • You write clean, testable, and maintainable code. You are comfortable writing unit and integration tests (e.g., Jest, Detox) and conducting thorough code reviews. You are comfortable with iterating frequently and avoid premature optimization.
  • You thrive on a full-stack, cross-functional team. You can effectively communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
