We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Global Commodity Manager to join our team. This Senior Level role is a critical part of Calix product development process and is responsible for formulating, communicating and executing the Strategic Silicon sourcing strategy. Your work will enable our competitive advantage, supporting cost optimization, supply continuity, and continuous improvement initiatives. Own the end-to-end procurement strategy for silicon technology and key commodities by partnering with Engineering, Operations, and Product Management to align sourcing plans with technical roadmaps. Develop and govern supplier relationships through structured business reviews, negotiations, and performance management—while proactively driving cost reduction, value engineering, supply assurance, inventory flexibility, and risk mitigation to support production execution and long-term supply resiliency. Essential Requirements: - Deep knowledge of global supply chains, commodity markets, and strategic sourcing methodologies, particularly within silicon technology. - Build cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Operations & Product Management to ensure the procurement strategy aligns with the product technical and deployment roadmaps. - Drive and develop supplier relationships and conduct business reviews that improve suppliers value, performance, and account investments through aligned roadmaps. - Ideate & drive opportunities for cost reduction for existing and new products. - Ability to collaborate, influence, and build consensus across diverse internal stakeholders. - Negotiate contracts such as Pricing Agreements, NDAs and Master Agreements and ensure supplier adherence to key terms. - Support Operations on component supply assurance and inventory programs that increase flexibility and minimize liabilities - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement value engineering opportunities to reduce the cost of mechanical commodities while maintaining or improving quality. - Support & expand supplier risk management system, BOM risk reduction solutions, materials risk mitigation strategies and maintaining data integrity to ensure supply resiliency. - Resolve roadblocks to production readiness and to support in execution during production. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. - Senior Category Management Experience: 10+ years in strategic sourcing or category management, with a deep technical acumen on semiconductors. - A proven track record of personally leading and closing multi-million-dollar negotiations and structuring complex, long-term supply agreements. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making. - Exceptional ability to partner with and influence Senior leadership and highly technical engineering teams. - Advanced analytical skills and experience with data analysis and reporting. Preferred Qualifications: - MBA or Master’s Degree in a Technical or Engineering field. - Advantageous relationships with Tier 1 suppliers of SoC, FPGA, WIFI chips. - Familiarity with Information & Communications Technology Industry. The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location.
