Role Description Wendy's is seeking to expand our dynamic team with a highly skilled Sr Java Software Engineer with expertise in the development of Java Spring Boot web applications. In this role, you will be responsible for: - Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend solutions that power our eCommerce. - Collaborating with dynamic, cross-functional teams. - Mentoring junior developers. - Driving the adoption of best practices to ensure the delivery of robust and maintainable software systems. Responsibilities - Design, develop, deploy, and maintain new and existing Java web applications, microservices, and APIs using a test-driven approach, mainly utilizing the Spring Boot framework. - Ensure compliance with software engineering best practices and guidelines (unit and functional testing, code reviews, CI, visibility, design documentation and review, etc.) to deliver highly scalable and maintainable backend solutions for consumption by various clients. - Coordinate with quality, performance, and security engineers to define test cases, verify performance, and mitigate vulnerabilities. - Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to help translate business requirements and specifications into usable and scalable software. - Take accountability for Wendy's development projects, code, and functional domains. - Work with and communicate well with teammates to foster an engaging environment and culture. - Mentor and coach team members to enhance team growth and productivity. Qualifications - Bachelors Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems is preferred. - 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on backend engineering using Java and Spring Boot. - Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL). - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes). - Skilled at communicating effectively and empathetically with technical and non-technical users. - Experience working on an Agile/Kanban team. - Comprehensive understanding of SDLC. - QSR experience a plus. - Google Cloud Platform experience a plus.
