• Design, configure, and manage cloud-based network infrastructure, including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, security groups, and VPNs. • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues in the cloud environment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. • Collaborate with various teams to understand and meet their network requirements and optimize performance. • Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations, procedures, and changes. • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support, including pager duty for network-related emergencies. • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud networking technologies and best practices to continually enhance the cloud network environment.

• Works with customers to develop requirements for network services and design cost-effective, secure and reliable solutions • Prepares and maintains detailed network documentation for networking team and end users • Configures and manages central network components including network firewalls and VPN firewalls • Triage and evaluate daily firewall requests into security policy and NAT rules • Serves as team leader for junior-level analysts • Provides tier three resource for various network performance and connectivity issues • Works with SOC to establish policies for managing the network • Stays current with new technologies focusing on routing, switching, wireless and security technology • Configures security perimeter devices to provide service to end users and departments

• Own front-end network architecture including DCI, edge, ingress/egress, and control-plane networks • Design scalable Ethernet architectures • Architect and operate large edge and service networks • Define routing, segmentation, and isolation strategies • Partner closely with the Back End Network Principal to define clean interface boundaries between front-end and RDMA back-end fabrics • Lead hands-on deployment, validation, and troubleshooting in new and production data centers • Define and maintain reference architectures, standards, and long-term growth models • Own relationships with network carriers and service providers, including: • IP coordination with Registrars • Circuit design and capacity planning • Carrier selection and solution evaluation • Coordinating delivery timelines, turn-ups, and escalations • Ensuring edge connectivity aligns with platform growth • Work in collaboration with the Kubernetes platform team to design and deliver network solutions for Kubernetes-centric use cases, including: • Ingress and service exposure architectures • Hybrid and cloud integration • VPC-to-VPC and multi-environment connectivity • Network constructs required to support Kubernetes networking models at scale

Role Description GovCIO is currently hiring for a System/Network Engineer for our NIH-CIT proposal. This position will be located in Bethesda, MD and is a remote/hybrid position. - Responsible for delivering optimal availability and quality regarding the wireless network services. - Participate in daily stand ups and utilize the kanban methodology to triage and resolve incidents and problems within established SLAs. - As directed by senior engineers, participate in shift lead duties to serve as “queue managers” to ensure each escalated issue is efficiently assigned, actively being worked by expediting resolution and fulfillment to meet SLAs. - Assist with proactive measures such as network monitoring, analysis, maintenance/patching, and documentation. - Provide suggestions to management on continuous improvements in regards to communications, customer understanding, tools, technology, and equipment.
