Senior Engineering Manager
Vonage
• Lead one of our engineering tribes, comprising multiple squads. • Provide technical and people leadership across the full development lifecycle. • Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products and services. • Act as a trusted advisor to the Director of Engineering. • Contribute to and help drive the ongoing transformation of the org. • Manage and optimize our data and billing pipelines.
Job Requirements
- Hands-on Coding Experience- At Vonage, our managers are technical leaders who can both write and review code fluently.
- Agile and Software Delivery- You are comfortable working within Agile methodologies and have a strong understanding of software delivery practices.
- A value-driven and principle approach
- You'll understand architecture and can take part in discussions
- You look outside your team's responsibilities and try to improve the organisation as a whole
- Product minded: you can operate as Product Owner, demo our systems to customers and shape the feature roadmap in collaboration with our Product team.
- At least one of Java, Golang, Kotlin, Python or a similar programming language.
- Understanding of Data pipelines (data transformations, complex queues, real-time, high-volume data processing).
- Data and queue technologies: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Flink, Pinot.
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred).
- Mapping of platform architectures.
- System design.
- Strong understanding of security best practices.
- Kubernetes or a similar container orchestrator.
