Senior Engineering Manager

• Lead a Group (analogous to a Tribe) with a defined business purpose, managing multiple teams and other engineering leaders; • Define the technical vision and long-term strategy for your area, ensuring alignment with Arco's objectives; • Participate in strategic decisions with senior leadership, connecting technology and product to business outcomes; • Promote the use of AI tools and agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as part of the team's daily work, driving adoption and maximizing productivity and quality; • Identify bottlenecks, dependencies, and opportunities across the portfolio of products and services under your responsibility; • Develop and mentor leaders, building successors and ensuring team sustainability; • Lead cultural and technical change initiatives, raising standards for quality, architecture, and organizational agility; • Act as a bridge between different areas of the company, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve strategic objectives.
Job Requirements
- Strong prior experience as a software developer;
- Solid experience managing multiple teams and leading other leaders (managing managers);
- Proven track record of developing scalable, high-impact products;
- Strategic vision to translate corporate decisions into practical, long-term actions;
- Proficiency with agile methodologies, continuous delivery practices, and advanced use of metrics for decision-making;
- Experience defining architecture and ensuring quality at scale (design reviews, testing, CI/CD);
- Experience with engineering KPIs using frameworks such as DORA Metrics and CORE 4, and tools like GetDX, DevLake, or LinearB;
- Ability to manage and develop high-performance senior teams, including retention and talent development programs;
- Negotiation skills with vendors, strategic partners, and diverse stakeholders;
- Maturity to handle risk and uncertainty, maintaining balance and agility during crises and high-pressure situations;
- Knowledge and application of AI tools (IDEs, copilots, agents) to increase productivity and quality;
- Excellent communication, influencing skills, and a systemic business perspective.
