Job Description
Senior Web Designer
UpGuard
• Elevate the Web Experience: Lead the visual design for high-impact web projects, moving beyond standard templates to create bespoke, interactive landing pages and microsites that captivate our technical audience. • Systematise the Design Language: Own and evolve the web design system in Figma, ensuring a consistent, scalable, and accessible visual language across thousands of pages while maintaining rapid velocity for the Web Dev team. • Bridge Design and Development: Work side-by-side with Front-End Engineers to ensure your designs are feasible, responsive, and performant, bridging the gap between "concept" and "code" with precise handoffs. • Visualise Complex Data: collaborate with the Research and Product Marketing teams to turn dense cybersecurity data and reports into engaging, interactive data visualisations and scrolly-telling experiences. • Optimise for Conversion: Partner with the Growth Squad (SEO & Paid) to design A/B tests and conversion rate optimisation (CRO) experiments that balance brand integrity with aggressive lead capture goals. • Collaborate with Squads: Act as the "Web Design Consultant" for Product Squads, translating their campaign themes and "Splash" concepts into digital realities that feel unique yet unmistakably UpGuard.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of dedicated web design experience, with a portfolio showcasing not just "brochureware" but complex, interactive, or product-led web experiences.
- Mastery of Figma, including advanced prototyping, auto-layout, and the management of large-scale component libraries and design systems.
- A strong understanding of Front-End fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript capabilities). You don't need to write code, but you must understand how the DOM works to design effectively for it.
- Experience designing for B2B SaaS or Tech, with an ability to make complex, technical subjects (like cyber risk) feel accessible, modern, and premium.
- A "User-Centric" mindset: you design for the human on the other side of the screen, obsessing over usability, accessibility (WCAG), and mobile responsiveness.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining the "why" behind your design decisions to stakeholders ranging from Developers to the VP of Demand Gen.
Benefits
- Monthly Lifestyle subsidy: Use this for financial, physical, and mental well-being
- WFH set-up allowance: To ensure you have the right environment to work in, we will help you get set up within your first 3 months at UpGuard

- Personal Leave Allowance: This includes sick & carer’s leave
- Fully remote working environment: While we have physical offices in Sydney & Hobart, we do not mandate compulsory attendance
- Top-spec hardware: All team members will be provided with top-spec laptops for their role
