Job Description

Storage and Backup Administrator

Pythian

• Configure, upgrade, and set up master servers, backup gateways, backup proxies, and clients for Veeam Backup and Replication. • Set up and administer backup repositories along with backend NAS storage solutions like Data Domains and QNAPs. • Manage Virtual Machine, filer, and database backup jobs in different backup products. • Diagnose and fix issues related to backup and restore, such as failures in backup jobs. • Perform restores for various types of data in the event of data loss, as per customer requirements. • Oversee backup retention strategies and remove obsolete backup files. • Collaborate with Veeam support regarding concerns related to backup, restoration and updates. • Configure and manage enterprise-class storage solutions, NetApp ONTAP clusters, DELL EMC VNX, VNXe, and Unity300. • Advanced working knowledge of FC SANs and associated components, including FC network, FC switches, and proficient in FC switch configuration and upgrades. • Perform zoning and masking at the storage and Fiber switch level and configure hosts with redundant paths. • Good knowledge of Storage Pools, RAID groups, LUN masking, checkpoints and quotas. • Monitor storage hardware health and coordinate with support vendors to perform hardware replacements as needed. • Manage storage allocation requests at the SAN and NAS levels. • Administer NFS and CIFS volumes and shares. • Install and configure backup storage systems, including DELL EMC Data Domains and QNAPs. • Participate in Change Control (CC) and CAB approval processes for maintenance activities and provide regular updates to stakeholders. • Participate in an on-call rotation in an escalation capacity.

Job Requirements

  • 5-8 years of overall experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the NetApp ONTAP clusters, DELL EMC storage systems, Data Domains, and QNAPs.
  • Strong knowledge of Veeam Backup and Replication solutions.
  • Certification in NetApp ONTAP, EMC Storage, or Veeam Backup and Replication would be a plus.
  • A working knowledge of Linux OS and iSCSI would be an added advantage.
  • Creative person who looks for new and innovative ways to resolve problems.
  • Provide operational support on a 24/7 rotation basis.
  • Strong demonstrated work ethic with a clear focus on customer success.

Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in benefits administration and analysis. - Demonstrated ownership of: - Benefits plan administration - Open enrollment execution - Benefits analysis and renewals support - Vendor and broker management - Hands-on experience administering benefits within HRIS platforms (e.g., Rippling, Workday), including enrollments, eligibility, and data integrity. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Ability to balance hands-on administration with program-level thinking in a scaling environment. - Familiarity with benefits compliance and regulatory requirements. - Experience supporting programs across parent and operating company structures, including multiple legal entities, distinct employee populations, and varying program requirements is preferred but not required. - Experience in healthcare, telehealth, and/or high-growth/scaling organizations is preferred but not required.
