Junior Geoprocessing Analyst
SCCON
• Responsible for performing geoprocessing activities using various types of satellite imagery and software related to the collection, processing, analysis, and visualization of geospatial data, following the company's methodologies and procedures. • Perform tasks related to image classification and analysis for purposes such as land use and land cover, change detection, thematic mapping, and others. • Analysis, editing, and digitizing/vectorizing of geographic data. • Use Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and other company systems to carry out analyses and processing to generate geospatial information. • Produce information to populate spatial databases. • Assist in the preparation of manuals and documentation for geospatial processes. • Perform other related activities as directed by leadership.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cartographic Engineering, Forest Engineering, Surveying Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Technologist in Geoprocessing, Geography, Biology, or related fields.
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Experience in interpreting satellite imagery for land use and land cover classification.
- Basic experience in vectorization using QGIS or ArcGIS.
- Basic knowledge of cartography, remote sensing, and geoprocessing.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of photo-interpretation and image classification.
- Basic knowledge of Brazilian biomes, including vegetation types and the socio-environmental dynamics of each.
