Manager – Client-Facing Accounting

• Manage a portfolio of private company clients as their primary accounting advisor • Lead and manage client relationships, ensuring all accounting, compliance, and advisory needs are met • Oversee bookkeeping, and year-end work, coordinating with specialists as needed • Lead the onboarding process of new clients, set up and document processes, integrations and systems based on AH Cloud tools, and lead the eventual handoff to a bookkeeper within the team • Assist with scoping of new clients and rescoping of existing clients • Perform bookkeeping directly or supervise junior bookkeepers depending on the client • Conduct client meetings, set expectations, and provide strategic guidance • Review financial statements, working papers, and deliverables prepared by junior staff • Mentor and coach junior team members in the Philippines • Analyze workflows and recommend process or technology improvements • Assist with or lead implementation of workflows and cloud-based tools • Liaise with tax, corporate compliance, valuation/M&A, and CFO specialists • Ensure deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with Canadian accounting standards • Provide updates and participate in team check-ins
Job Requirements
- CPA designation (Philippines or equivalent)
- 7+ years post-designation experience in public practice or shared services
- 5+ years in a manager or senior manager role supervising teams
- Prior experience working with Canadian clients, understanding of Canadian sales tax and payroll
- Hands-on experience with Xero, QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, Canadian/US accounting standards, and compliance workflows
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong client communication and expectation-setting skills
- Tech-savvy with experience implementing cloud accounting platforms
- Ability to work night shift (aligned with Canadian hours)
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
