Cloud Ops Engineer II
CSG
• Manage and support 350+ AWS and Azure accounts/subscriptions, including setup, configuration, and lifecycle management • Administer permissions and access controls, ensuring compliance with organizational security policies • Implement and maintain cloud usage standards and frameworks; contribute to continuous improvement of best practices • Support and enhance an in-house tool that aggregates and presents cloud account, usage, and permissions data for stakeholders • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, deployment, and application issues across cloud platforms • Collaborate with development, QA, and architecture teams to improve observability, logging, and alerting • Automate operational tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) • Monitor system performance, optimize efficiency, and minimize downtime through proactive maintenance and incident response • Participate in Agile ceremonies and DevOps activities; contribute to operational playbooks and SOPs • Implement CSGs Cloud Usage Framework via automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines) • Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing within the team • Participate in on-call rotation and provide production support as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related work experience
- 3+ years of experience operating enterprise-grade applications in AWS and/or Azure environments
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps preferred), cloud-native application deployment, and automation
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and monitoring principles
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and cloud management tools
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Proficient in written and spoken English, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured technical documentation
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and support production environments
- Self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment
- Preferred: AWS or Azure certifications
- Experience with AWS Lambda (Python)
- Experience with API Integration
- Knowledge of Containers
- Experience supporting internal tools for cloud account management and reporting.
