Technical Lead – DevOps
NearForm
• Provide technical and line-management leadership to your development team. • Take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects. • Identify and resolve blockers before they become issues. • Ensure best practices in DevOps, software development and agile methodologies are upheld within the team. • Work directly with clients, translating requirements into technical briefs. • Shape and define architectural decisions ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability. • Provide updates to client and Nearform leadership to ensure clear understanding of project status and drive good decision-making.
Job Requirements
- Significant experience leading projects and mentoring as a Technical Lead.
- Experience working directly with clients or customers to understand technical requirements.
- Working knowledge of cloud deployment models
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, OWASP, PCI DSS) and risk management methodologies
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of web application security, in particular DevOps and SDLC
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Expertise with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL or cloud equivalent such as Amazon RDS
- Experience utilizing LLMs and prompt engineering
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline setup and management
- Familiarity in using AWS cloud platform for deploying and managing applications, particularly AWS ECS
- Familiarity with GitHub for version control and code collaboration.
- Knowledge of containerisation
- Deep understanding of agile ways of working, best practices and design patterns.
- Deep understanding of version control tools, e.g. Git.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Understanding of operational concerns (such as monitoring, performance testing, security considerations, accessibility, GDPR)
