• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5 to 8 engineers through regular 1:1s, clear expectations, and a genuine investment in their development • Own hiring. Partner with the CTO to attract and retain strong engineering talent • Stay hands-on. Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making to support and unblock your team • Guide the team through the ongoing migration from Go/TypeScript to the new Elixir-based platform, balancing delivery commitments with long-term technical progress • Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for external partners, translating their needs into actionable technical work • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, eg. Product, Platform, to align priorities and remove blockers • Own end-to-end delivery. From planning and scoping to shipping and monitoring, keeping delivery predictable without unnecessary overhead • Communicate clearly and proactively about team progress, risks, and trade-offs directly to the CTO and across the organization • Own our Go-To rotation, the Partner-Facing team's equivalent of an on-call rotation.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 2+ years of engineering management experience, leading teams of 5 or more engineers
- Professional experience with Go, TypeScript, Svelte or similar technologies; comfortable reading and reviewing code in these languages
- Experience with Kubernetes, GCP, and modern DevOps/CI-CD practices
- Proven ability to work directly with internal and external stakeholders or partners, translating business needs into engineering work
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment, with strong written and verbal English skills
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to take ownership of your team's work and outcomes
- Production experience with Elixir or Strong interest in adopting Elixir and contributing to its growing role within our platform

Role Description The Business Development Manager will be the promotional lead responsible for promoting and supporting a dedicated portfolio of Geometallic and geosynthetic solutions. This role focuses on technical promotion and leadership, project support, technical committees and activities for targeted product applications — primarily strategic products produced in NAM. This individual will play a key role in managing industry approvals, design support, and technical promotion efforts, working closely with internal sales teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities - Lead promotion and specification (1st Sale) activities in collaboration with commercial sales and technical team members. - Develop and maintain relationships with key design/specifying engineers, agencies, and customers to promote and develop projects. - Maintain CRM with 1st Sale Projects and track through to 2nd Sale transition to commercial sales group. - Participate in various local professional associations to develop Maccaferri brand recognition in region. - Coordinate and deliver technical designs (preliminary and final) in collaboration with external partners. - Promote software tools relevant to product design, ensuring client adoption and effective use. - Provide estimating assistance for high-level projects/value-engineering opportunities including budgetary quotes. - Support and maintain State & Provincial DOT approvals, while also driving new evaluations and inclusion. - Track market trends and project opportunities, relaying intelligence to product and commercial leadership. - Present technical content at trade shows, lunch-and-learns, and professional seminars.
