Execution & Delivery: Spend 50% of your time with the engineering team shipping features, unblocking teammates, and reviewing architecture. Own the delivery of product and platform workstreams, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes in close partnership with Product and Design. Engineering Operations: Improve team processes, increase velocity, and support technical excellence in everything from code quality to system reliability. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other leaders across the company to translate priorities into actionable technical work, and proactively remove blockers. Hands-On Technical Guidance: Stay close to the code and architecture. Reviewing work, advising on decisions, and jumping in to help move things forward. Scaling Systems & Teams: Help shape the long-term structure of the engineering organization and prepare the team for future growth in both complexity and size. Ideal Qualifications for this Position Other Important Information about this Position This position is primarily remote, but we are seeking candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area to enable more in person collaboration with other team members up to 2 days/week. Occasional travel to our Denver, Colorado office may be required. The exact title and scope of this role will be shaped by the experience and strengths of the person we hire. We’re open to Engineering Manager or Director-level candidates. The ability to work productively and without interruption or distraction during Mountain Time business hours is essential. Job Requirements
- 5–10+ years of experience in software engineering, including people leadership experience (as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Director)
- Track record of leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments (ideally in a Seed to Series B stage company)
- Strength in team execution and delivery management. Able to break down complex projects and keep things moving
- Strong coaching skills with a passion for developing engineers and fostering inclusive, healthy team culture
- Experience working closely with Product and Design to scope work, set priorities, and align on outcomes
- Solid understanding of modern development practices, architecture, and infrastructure
