• Shape and scale our customer communication ecosystem • Translate brand strategy into structured, scalable lifecycle communications • Ensure that every customer touchpoint reinforces the client's voice and builds trust • Partner closely with Growth, Customer Experience, Product, and Operations to align messaging • Design structured communication journeys across onboarding, billing, education, engagement, and retention • Develop messaging frameworks that scale across web, email, support content • Identify friction points in the customer experience and improve clarity through messaging • Use performance data, customer insights, and feedback to continuously refine messaging

Job Requirements

  • 4–7+ years of experience in brand communications, lifecycle marketing, or messaging strategy
  • Strong understanding of brand voice development and messaging systems
  • Experience building structured communication frameworks — not just campaigns
  • Proven ability to turn strategy into scalable, repeatable processes
  • Experience maintaining brand consistency across cross-functional, distributed teams
  • Highly proactive and execution-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Internet speed: 30–50 Mbps download, 20–30 Mbps upload, stable connection below 30ms preferred, wired connection strongly recommended

Reporting to the senior manager of program communications, the communications manager, innovation is responsible for supporting the implementation of the organization’s global communications strategy, with a specific focus on making its technology, data and scientific research understandable, relevant and usable at scale. Positioning Global Fishing Watch as a leading authority and partner of choice for data-led transparency in ocean governance, the post-holder will directly support the delivery of the organization’s 2030 goals by translating complex science, data and technology into compelling stories and digital experiences that demonstrate real-world impact.
