Field Service Technician
Altium Packaging
• Enable growth, retain business, and eliminate defect losses by preventing and resolving technical challenges from Altium Packaging manufacturing through customers’ production lines and outbound supply chains • Apply technical expertise to ensure Altium Packaging products are suited to handling, filling, capping, labeling, and distribution rigors • Provide value-added services: Provide Technical solutions to apply Altium Packaging’s manufactured products with customer base • Work at customer sites to prevent or resolve problems using Altium Packaging products in fill line equipment • Find ways to improve fill line operation and/or change Altium Packaging designs or products to ensure flow to customers’ outbound supply chain • Support customers’ continuous filling line performance improvements • Lead cost reduction for Altium Packaging and customers • Offer suggestions & make physical changes within our Altium Packaging plants to improve throughput or efficiencies by fixing, changing, combining lines and equipment • Work with vendors on job sites to provide oversight and improve our speed to market • Consult with product designer to ensure manufacturability and functionality of packages • Lead safety mindset within Altium Packaging and customer • Call attention to safety deficiencies wherever we find them in house or at a customer location • Ensure safety in all work • Create customer loyalty: Listen carefully, respond quickly, promote Altium Packaging within the customer plants, be honest about the issues they encounter and address each one responsibly • Troubleshoot customer problems unrelated to Altium Packaging products and offer solutions that may increase efficiencies, lower operational costs, and reduce “shrink” to cost and support customers’ growth • Qualify product in commercial start-ups throughout the supply chain • Perform and support Plant audits in Altium Packaging and the customers • Manage the maintenance of Altium Packaging-owned assets, including filler and capper maintenance and service • Solve capping and filling issues • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs
Job Requirements
- Five or more years experience in field service and interaction with customers in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills are required
- The technician must be able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, forms, and memos and be able to complete forms and reports in English
- The technician must also be able to interpret and explain policy
- Travel 90%
