Job Description
Senior UX Product Designer
Emma – The Sleep Company
• You will work within our product teams alongside Product Managers and developers to drive discovery, design, and delivery for our internal products, including tools and systems used by operations, wholesale, and other internal teams. • You will actively shape problem spaces and solution directions together with Product and Engineering, helping define opportunities and priorities rather than working from predefined requirements. While the role spans discovery, execution, and systems thinking, you will focus on a defined set of internal products or problem areas. • You will contribute to roadmap decisions by balancing company vision and business objectives with internal user needs, operational constraints, and long-term maintainability. • You will create designs that increase value for internal users and the business, grounded in data and direct user input. You will take ownership of engaging with internal users, running fast validation activities such as usability testing and feedback sessions to iterate quickly and confidently. • You will design and improve complex workflows and system interactions, focusing on efficiency, clarity, and reliability in data-heavy and role-based environments. • You will collaborate closely with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation, aligning on feasibility, system constraints, and sustainable solutions. • You will support and mentor other designers, helping elevate the overall quality, consistency, and impact of UX across Emma’s internal products. • You will contribute to a culture of structured problem-solving and pragmatic decision-making, bringing clarity to ambiguous situations and driving scalable, well-reasoned solutions. • You will take shared ownership of the design system, contributing to its evolution to ensure consistency and long-term maintainability. This includes designing structured, reusable components and patterns, improving documentation, and evolving design-to-implementation workflows that enable faster, more reliable delivery and future automation opportunities.
Job Requirements
- You have experience working in and helping steer product teams focused on internal digital products, ideally in complex or operational environments.
- You have experience designing, building, and shipping end-to-end user flows for internal tools, including complex workflows, permissions, or data-driven interfaces, with strong proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- You are comfortable owning user research and validation yourself, directly engaging with internal users to gather insights, test designs quickly, and iterate based on feedback.
- You have strong interaction design skills, defining behaviour and workflows based on a deep understanding of internal user needs, business goals, and scalability across teams and systems.
- You have strong visual design skills, with a high bar for quality in typography, layout, and UI execution, even in data-dense and constrained internal contexts.
- You have hands-on experience working with and evolving design systems, designing scalable, reusable components and patterns, and thinking beyond visuals towards structured, system-level solutions.
- You bring strong business sense and prioritisation skills, understanding operational constraints and making pragmatic design decisions that balance UX quality and business impact.
- You are a proactive problem-solver and critical thinker, comfortable challenging assumptions, voicing your perspective, and collaborating closely with Product and Engineering partners.
- You have experience presenting design work to product teams and stakeholders, clearly articulating.
