• Actively participate in the development and maintenance of our Ruby on Rails applications; • Develop and maintain distributed systems using RabbitMQ; • Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure code quality; • Collaborate with the technology team on architecture and system design decisions; • Develop and maintain JavaScript applications, using the Vue.js framework when needed.

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails and JavaScript (Vue.js);
  • Solid experience with object-oriented programming, automated testing, and event-driven architecture;
  • Knowledge of distributed systems with messaging;
  • Knowledge of system architecture;
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills (development and product teams);
  • React Native knowledge is a plus;
  • Domain-Driven Design (DDD) knowledge is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD);
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS;
  • Experience with distributed architecture

As an Engineer on the Safety Experience team, you’ll help make Discord’s platform safer for hundreds of millions of users. You’ll contribute to designing, building, and maintaining product features and systems that prevent harmful activities while ensuring regulatory compliance. Keeping users safe is essential for Discord’s growth, making your team’s work critical. This role reports to the Engineering Manager of Safety Experience.
