Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Description: Receiving - Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. - Check shipping documents (e.g., packing slips, invoices) against purchase orders to confirm receipt. - Properly label and store incoming materials in designated areas. - Communicate discrepancies or damaged goods to the appropriate department and assist in resolving issues. Shipping - Prepare finished goods for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and documentation. - Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure products meet customer specifications before shipping. - Schedule and manage shipments with carriers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. - Generate and maintain accurate shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels. Inventory Management - Maintain accurate records of stock levels and track material movement in the warehouse. - Conduct regular cycle counts and report discrepancies to the inventory team. - Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse layout. Equipment and Safety - Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of materials. - Report any equipment malfunctions or workplace hazards to the supervisor. Communication and Coordination - Liaise with vendors, customers, and internal departments to coordinate shipments and deliveries. - Provide shipping updates to the operations team and customers as needed. - Assist with special projects and urgent shipping or receiving requests.
