• Build and maintain Linux-based systems, including physical and virtual servers, virtualization platforms, and storage systems. • Manage and administer on-premise and Cloud-based IT Infrastructure (VMware, AWS). • Develop automation scripts using IAC tools to build highly automated and scalable Linux systems and cloud infrastructure. • Design and implement components that are highly available and self-healing. • Assist with escalated incidents and provide subject matter expertise. • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration in a production environment.
- Expert knowledge of Linux fundamentals around filesystems, process scheduling, and virtual memory.
- Extensive expertise in virtualized environment management such as vCenter.
- In-depth understanding of the TCP/IP network protocol and addressing.
- Proficiency in using HTTP APIs in Python, Golang, or an equivalent language.
- Experience with configuration management platforms such as Ansible or similar.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or similar.
- Experience with metrics, monitoring, and visualization tools.

Role Description: 2026 Summer & Fall Co-op – IT Engineering (6 months, Boston onsite) Role Purpose: Wasabi Technologies is seeking a motivated IT Co-op student to join our Information Technology team for the Summer 2026 term. This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting a fast-growing global organization. You will assist with daily IT operations, contribute to technical projects, and learn how enterprise technology environments are designed, secured, and scaled. You will work closely with senior IT professionals while supporting identity management, endpoint management, SaaS platforms, security tooling, and service desk operations. Please note: Students must currently reside in the United States to be eligible for this position. Key Responsibilities: - Provide first-level IT support through the ticketing system. - Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and account provisioning. - Support endpoint management tools such as Jamf, Intune, and other MDM platforms. - Maintain asset tracking, documentation, and internal knowledge resources. - Assist with SaaS platform configuration and troubleshooting. - Participate in IT automation initiatives and cross-functional technology projects. Program Requirements: - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Familiar with Windows and macOS environments, and comfortable troubleshooting basic technical issues. - The co-op will work in our Boston office four days per week. - Strong communication skills, proactive mindset, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. - Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow, and exposure to identity and access management tools like Okta is a plus. - Familiarity with endpoint management tools (Jamf, Intune) and interest in cybersecurity or automation. The role is engineering-heavy (software engineering for infrastructure, not basic scripting) and focuses on building and operating production-grade automation frameworks, DSC resources/configurations, and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps/GitHub for hybrid and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities: - Engineer and maintain production-grade PowerShell automation (functions, modules, packaging, versioning, release management) with an emphasis on reliability, maintainability, and re-use. - Design, author, and troubleshoot DSC resources and configurations (idempotent behavior; correct Get/Test/Set; LCM troubleshooting; drift detection and remediation). - Build and operate CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub (PR workflows, gated builds, artifact publishing, environment promotion). - Work effectively in and with open-source projects and communities (fork/PR model, upstream collaboration, issue triage, documentation, and contribution hygiene). - Troubleshoot complex PowerShell/DSC issues end-to-end (VS Code debugging, logging/telemetry, remoting, authentication, runspaces, and execution policy constraints). - Translate customer requirements into an automation architecture and implementation plan (scope, assumptions, constraints, and operational model) and deliver through workshops/advisory and hands-on implementation. - Create high-quality engineering documentation (Markdown) and handover materials; coach peers/partners to ramp up on the solution assets.
