Project Manager, Nature-Based Solutions

• Manage large-scale nature-based solutions (NBS) projects in Australia and support similar projects across the Asia-Pacific region • Work closely with implementing partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of project milestones and contractual obligations • Develop and maintain project plans, implementation schedules, budgets and tracking systems across internal and external platforms • Draft, review, and manage project agreements, including scopes of work, implementing partner contracts, amendments, and payment tracking • Collaborate with the Nature-based Solutions and Impact Design and Verification teams to review carbon monitoring reports and supporting documentation • Monitor project progress and partner performance through regular communication, technical review, and field visits • Identify and manage project risks, working with internal teams and implementing partners to develop mitigation strategies and adjust project plans as needed • Conduct field visits to project sites to assess implementation approaches, verify progress, and collect media assets for donor communications • Support the identification and development of new NbS projects aligned with funder priorities, carbon potential, and co-benefits • Serve as the primary point of contact in Australia for carbon project investors and implementing partners • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders while ensuring clear communication and delivery of project milestones • Provide regular project updates, reports, and technical information to investors and internal teams • Prepare and share impact updates, photos, and communications materials for investor engagement and transparency • Participate in investor meetings and working groups to support project design and successful delivery • Assist with preparation of annual reports, reporting portals, and investor communications in collaboration with Development and Communications teams
Job Requirements
- BACHELOR’S DEGREE in environmental science, forestry, conservation, ecology, natural resource management, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years experience managing large-scale environmental, forestry, restoration, or carbon-related projects - NBS projects preferred
- Experience managing complex projects involving implementing partners and investors
- Experience working with complex contracts, scopes of work, and partnership agreements
- Experience working in Indonesia or SE Asia in environmental or climate programs is a plus
- Experience engaging with corporate or institutional funders, including reporting and stakeholder communications, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of nature-based solutions, forest restoration, and landscape-scale conservation
- Knowledge of Australian carbon markets, including Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) methodologies, ERF frameworks, or voluntary carbon standards (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard) is highly desirable
- Proficiency with project management tools, CRM systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with GIS, remote sensing, drone imagery, or environmental monitoring tools is an advantage
- Highly responsible, organised, and a team player
- Comfortable working remotely within a globally distributed team environment
