Description Meditech Data Extraction & Reporting Engineer Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Meditech data engineering specialist to support healthcare data archiving and legacy application retirement projects. This role focuses on extracting data from legacy Meditech systems and transforming it into relational SQL databases while also preserving Meditech reporting outputs and report logic for use within an archive platform. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Meditech Client/Server data structures, NPR reporting frameworks, and the Meditech data dictionary. This individual will design and implement processes that convert Meditech hierarchical data structures into normalized relational schemas and enable reproduction or preservation of Meditech reports within a long-term archive environment. ________________________________________ Required Qualifications Meditech Platform Experience Strong hands-on experience working with Meditech environments such as (but not limited to): • Meditech Client/Server • Meditech Magic • Meditech 6.x Experience working with: • Meditech DPM structures • NPR reporting systems • Meditech dictionaries and pointer relationships • Meditech segment layouts ________________________________________ Technical Skills • Advanced SQL development experience • Experience designing relational database schemas • Experience translating hierarchical data models into relational structures • Experience building data extraction and transformation pipelines Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH. • This role will be supporting the Naval Research & Development Establishment (NR&DE) organization, which is part of the Decision Advantage Solutions Hub (DASH) Integrated Product Team (IPT). • NR&DE comprises 15+ warfare centers in addition to NIWC Atlantic, as well as University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) and a Federally Funded Research Development Center (FFRDC). • Provides engineering, logistics, and PM support solutions • Provides automation through development and deployment of modern software-intensive solutions • Provides hosting for software application and services including private and commercial Cloud services • Performs install and sustain enterprise systems for the Fleet and DoD

• Serve as technical lead in data engineering (tech lead); • Produce technical documentation that complements business scope; • Ability to negotiate timelines and deadlines; • Develop and oversee scalable data architectures, including creating and maintaining pipelines; • Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency by implementing cleansing and validation procedures (code review); • Improve performance of ETL processes, databases, and infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency and ensure fast data access; • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, guiding requirement definition and the delivery of data solutions aligned with business needs; • Design and implement advanced data models, promoting good governance practices for effective data management and organization; • Ensure data security and compliance, adhering to regulations and best practices for privacy and protection of sensitive information; • Identify and assist in resolving technical and operational challenges related to data pipelines, optimizing processes and data availability; • Research and implement new technologies and approaches to improve the efficiency and quality of the data ecosystem.

• Lead design discussions around data architecture, modeling strategy, and platform evolution • Identify opportunities to simplify and scale the data platform • Drive improvements to data reliability, observability, and data quality • Establish and promote best practices for data modeling, testing, and code review • Help the team prioritize work and balance speed with technical quality • Develop and optimize ETL processes • Integrate data sources across a broad product portfolio to provide stakeholders access to key information they need to excel at their job • Mentor other data engineers • Challenge how business use cases fit together and fit into our product • Determine and proactively communicate future impacts of proposed or ongoing work • Help the team mitigate any issues that arise in their product and its ecosystem • Model data and metadata to support ad-hoc and pre-built reporting facilitating data access for our BI tools and analytical reporting • Provide technical guidance to help Data Engineering evolve access to data platform • Work with engineering to integrate tracking of new functionality into the data ecosystem • Optimize the performance of business-critical queries • Explain why the projects their team is working on have been prioritized over other projects
