As a Scientist 1 on the data management team, you will QA/QC and process data collected by field scientists performing environmental compliance inspections. Our clients and staff depend on the accuracy and completeness of this data to make business and environmental decisions. We are looking for a multi-tasker who will work hard to exceed clients’ expectations for quality and cost-effectiveness. At the end of the workday, you go home very satisfied knowing you've delivered solutions to clients that depend on you to resolve problems that range from very simple to very complex. Your Responsibilities as a Scientist 1: - Have a basic understanding of relational databases. - Enter data collected by Apex field staff into multiple databases. - Interpret data within Excel workbooks. - Complete project coding for billing summaries. - Interpret data within various regulatory compliance monitoring programs. - Input data into template reports. - Develop KPI cards and data visualizations. - Actively participate in a culture of safe work practices. - Actively develop your own professional growth. What we're looking for: - A BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Biology, Engineering Technology, or similar. - Experience with Excel. - Strong technical writing skills. - The ability to multi-task and manage your own time with remote supervision. - Demonstrated experience with safety programs and safe work practices. - Provide scheduled on-call support for weekend assignments (once per month) and after-hours emergencies. - Willingness to work an adjusted work week which may include weekends. - Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite are required. - Experience with data management and report preparation a plus. - Understanding of erosion, sediment, and stormwater control measures, as well as reclamation is a plus. - Experience completing Phase I and II ESAs, SWPPPs or SPCC plans a plus. - Ability to pass drug & alcohol screening. - Oil and gas industry experience and knowledge of drilling and production equipment a plus.
