Mid-level Data Scientist – Fraud Prevention
Bemobi
• Design and maintain data pipelines using Airflow (DAGs) to support fraud detection workflows • Process and analyze large volumes of transactional data using Spark • Develop, evaluate, and monitor fraud risk scoring models • Perform exploratory analyses to identify fraud patterns, anomalies, and emerging risk behaviors • Create and maintain dashboards to monitor fraud KPIs (approval rate, chargeback rate, fraud rate, false positive rate, among others) • Collaborate with Product, Payments, and Risk teams to evolve fraud prevention strategies • Contribute to MLOps and ML Engineering practices for deployment and monitoring of fraud models
Job Requirements
- Experience with Airflow and building data pipelines
- Experience with Spark for large-scale data processing
- Solid experience in fraud analysis and risk modeling
- Experience building and monitoring fraud scoring models
- Experience creating dashboards and tracking fraud KPIs
- Knowledge of MLOps and ML Engineering
- Strong command of SQL and data analysis
- Conversational Spanish
- Approximately 3 to 4 years of professional experience

Salary/Position Classification - $75,000-$80,000 annual, Exempt - 40 hours per week - 100% Remote Work Availability: Yes - Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): Yes Purpose of Position This position works to develop, track and monitor data used in strategic planning, decision support, and institutional effectiveness efforts; to assist units in interpreting data and trends to ensure effective and efficient management of resources; to create and to assist with the maintenance of data analytic tools for specific units as well as the institution as a whole; and to serve as a project manager in process improvement initiatives. This position will also work collaboratively with units across the institution to coordinate their approach to data analysis, resource allocation, and improve utilization of data in their decision-making.
