Quality Engineering Technical Lead

This role provides technical leadership within the Quality Engineering team, guiding test strategy, automation initiatives, and cross-functional quality practices. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Operations to ensure high standards of quality across our mobile, cloud, and IoT platforms. You will play a key role in shaping testing strategies for connected devices, validating end-to-end user workflows, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards before reaching customers. What You’ll Do Technical Leadership - Mentor and coach QE engineers to elevate technical capability and testing best practices - Serve as the technical point of contact for quality across cross-functional teams Test Strategy & Planning - Lead hands-on test planning, auditing, and execution - Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for new features and product releases - Identify risk areas and prioritize testing efforts based on impact and complexity - Define quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting dashboards to monitor product health Automation & Infrastructure - Evaluate and adopt tools and technologies to improve test automation, coverage, and efficiency - Contribute to building and improving test frameworks and infrastructure IoT & Platform Quality - Develop testing strategies for IoT devices and associated mobile applications - Validate end-to-end workflows across cameras, base stations, cloud services, and client applications - Test streaming, recording, notification systems, and AI/ML-driven features such as object detection and smart alerts - Ensure consistent quality across iOS, Android, and web platforms Process & Collaboration - Partner with Engineering and Product teams to define acceptance criteria and release exit criteria - Drive root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventative improvements - Manage test cycles, defect triage, and release readiness sign-offs - Contribute to planning, estimation, and continuous improvement initiatives - Champion a strong culture of quality across the organization
Job Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing
- Proven experience leading test strategy and technical quality initiatives
- Strong experience with test planning, defect management, and release validation
- Experience testing mobile applications (iOS and Android) and client-server applications
- Familiarity with automation frameworks and modern test tools
- Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to identify root causes of complex issues
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering and product teams
- Will be a plus if you have:
- Experience with IoT devices or consumer electronics
- Understanding of video streaming, networking, and cloud-based platforms
- Familiarity with AI/ML feature validation
- Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD environments
- Leverage AI-powered testing and automation to enhance quality, accelerate delivery, and enable predictive defect detection.
