Role Description Apply theory and principles of civil engineering in planning, designing, and overseeing fabrication of structures under the direction of engineering staff. - Draft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects and to ensure conformance to specifications. - Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities using calculator or computer. - Read and review project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. - Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions. - Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design, manufacturing or erection deficiencies and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes. - Develop plans and estimate costs for the construction of structures. - Prepare reports and document project activities and data. - Respond to manufacturing plant and public suggestions and complaints. - Evaluate facility to determine suitability for occupancy and square footage availability. - Conduct materials test and analysis on prototypes using tools and equipment and applying engineering knowledge. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.8 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff of over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. What You'll Be Doing: - Performs well-defined field engineering assignments primarily involving constructability reviews and the observation of work in progress. - Maintains first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards. - Assists construction personnel with general technical details. Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline; coordinates application of solutions. - Provides schedule and progress appraisal data to the Area Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work. - Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff. - Monitors discipline construction schedules and assists in progress appraisal - Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline. - Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures. - Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees. - Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards. - Maintains a daily log for permanent record of project construction, as well as discipline data for the final project turnover and report. - Maintains construction technical catalogs, supplier data, and other literature pertaining to the project. - May assist field superintendents and construction management in portions of larger, more complex activities as directed. - Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. What Required Skills You'll Bring: - Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 3+ years of experience in field construction is required. - Requires a working knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as some familiarity with industry practices. Also requires good written and oral communication skills, and a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction. • Own the Pipeline: Support and optimize application security tooling (SAST, SCA, Secrets Detection) within our CI/CD pipelines to provide accurate, actionable, and prioritized alerts to devs. • Be a Security Champion: Act as the primary security partner for Engineering and Product teams, ensuring security is baked in from the design phase through deployment. • Threat Modeling: Lead collaborative threat modeling exercises to identify architectural risks before code is even written. Partner with penetration testing teams to translate these threats into targeted testing scenarios for high-risk functions. • Code-Level Remediation: Don’t just tell devs what is wrong—show them how to fix it by performing deep-dive code reviews and providing actionable remediation guidance. • Secrets Management: Help lead the charge in identifying and removing hard-coded secrets, moving the org toward more secure, automated secret management practices. • Bug Bounty & Research: Help manage our bug bounty program by triaging submissions, working with researchers, and validating fixes with our engineers. • Secure AI Integration: Serve as the security consultant for AI/ML initiatives.
