Senior Network Engineer, Cisco Expert

Sutherland

• Configures, tests, and maintains corporate LAN/WAN equipment and related services • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks • Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations under the direction network director or team lead • Daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration • Travel 10% may be required • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation. Work weekends and off shift for project and support. • Other duties as assigned by the director of networking • Obtain and maintain required certifications for partnership with key vendors • Work onsite as required

Job Requirements

  • Must be Cisco Certified or working towards at least a CCNP with qualifying and in-depth Cisco networking experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in configuration of Palo Alto, Cisco ASA or Firepower Firewalls.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in configuration of Cisco routers [ISR4xxx and ASR1xxx] and switches (Catalyst 4500, 6500, 9500 and Nexus 5K and 9K).
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the design, implementation, and operation of TCP/IP networks to include Layers 1-3 routing
  • Understanding of EIGRP
  • Detailed understanding of BGP with route filters, prefix-lists and communities.
  • WIFI experience is a requirement.
  • Understanding or working knowledge of Python would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with Confluence collaboration software would be beneficial.
  • A working knowledge of the Cisco ACI fabric, experience with Cisco ACI will be a plus.
  • A complete working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Visio for network designs and diagrams.
  • Must have excellent communication skills of the English language (verbal and written).
